How is CPGET Rank Calculated?

The CPGET exam has a total of 100 marks. Candidates receive 1 mark for each correct answer, and there is no negative marking. Ranks are assigned purely based on total marks secured.

Tie-Breaking Policy: When two or more candidates score identical marks, the tie is resolved in the following order of priority:

Marks secured in Part A of the Common Entrance Test determine priority. If still tied, the older candidate receives a higher rank. The final tiebreaker is the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination.

Predict Your College

Once your CPGET rank is known, you can estimate your college and course eligibility using previous year opening and closing rank data. Here's how to use your rank strategically:

  • Compare your rank against the previous year CPGET closing ranks for your preferred course and university

  • Factor in your category - SC/ST, BC, EWS, and OBC candidates have reserved seat quotas

  • About 20% of supernumerary seats in each course in campus and constituent colleges of universities are available to candidates from states other than Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the National Integration Quota

  • Admission to 85% of seats in every course is reserved for local candidates in relation to the local area in Telangana. The remaining 15% of seats, open to both locals and non-locals, are filled subject to similar reservation norms
