NCERT conducts a common entrance examination for candidates seeking admission to its teacher education programmes. The fees at RIE vary for every course. The range differs between ₹25,960 to ₹71,490 or it may change for 2027 year.

Q:   What is the RIE CEE exam for?
A: 

RIE CEE exam is conducted by NCERT for candidates who wish to get admission in BSc BEd, BA BEd, and MSc BEd, BEd-MEd, and MA Education Technology. The examination is conducted in July on behalf of 7 regional institute of education in different parts of the county.

RIE CEE 2026 Counselling

RIE CEE counselling is conducted within a week or two after the result declaration. Qualified candidates have to participate in the online counselling process, fill in their preferred institutes and courses, and complete document verification. 

RIE CEE Counselling Process

Candidates need to complete the following steps:

  • Online counselling registration.
  • Choice filling for institutes and programmes.
  • Seat allotment based on merit.
  • Document verification.
  • Payment of admission fee.
  • Reporting to allotted Regional Institute of Education.

Documents Required for the RIE CEE Counselling

Listed below are the important documents. 

  • Printout of the Application form and Score card/ result sheet of CEE 2026
  • Original Marks cards of Class X and XII classes
  • Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate C
  • Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority from the Domicile State (in case of SC/ST students).
  • ОВС Сertificate (Non-Creamy layer) Current Financial Year in the Government of India Format (if applicable)
  • EWS Certificate (Current Financial Year) in Government of India Format (if applicable)

As per the Government of India rules, candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. The following reservations are available:

Q:   When will the RIE CEE counselling process start?
A: 

RIE CEE counselling started after the result announcement on August 30 for Group C. After the Group A result, declared on September 5, and Group C on September 11, the other programs' counselling also started. The provisional list is being uploaded to the respective website. The candidate must report to the respective campus within the given timeline.

Q:   What if I miss my RIE CEE counselling date?
A: 

It is not advised for any candidate to miss the counselling date. It can result in losing the seat as well as the admission. You can confirm with the respective RIE if you can attend the next round of counselling or any other available solution.

Q:   What to do after rie cee result?
A: 

After the result, the merit and provisional list for qualified is released within a week or two of the declaration. Candidates need to report to the allotted centre with documents and fees.

Q:   How many seats are there in RIE Bhubaneswar for a BSc BEd?

Q:   What is the pass mark for the RIE CEE exam?
A: 

At least 50% in qualifying exam (relaxable to 45% for reserved categories) is required to be eligible to sit for exam. RIE CEE qualifying marks will be based on weightage formula that includes 60% weightage to RIE CEE exam score and 40% weightage to qualifying exam marks

Q:   What to do after RIE CEE result?
A: 
After the result,  the RIE CEE Counselling process will be held. The RIE CEE Counselling schedule is yet to be announced by the exam conducting body on the official website of the exam. All the qualifying candidates are allotted seats in their respective courses through RIE CEE counselling.
Q:   Why is my RIE CEE portal score card not visible for the group B result?
A: 

CEE Result for Group B was declared on September 11, on the RIE Bhopal website. Check your login credentials twice before trying to login. You can reset the password in case you're entering the incorrect one. If the situation still persists, you should immediately notify the RIE helplines. The counselling process is ongoing, and to avoid missing that. Contact helpline.

RIE CEE 2026 Eligibility

The candidates are required to fulfil some conditions before they register for the RIE CEE. Get familiar with the section to understand the enrollment process.

Course

Eligibility

BSc BEd

  • For Physical Science Group admission, you must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, where M could be Mathematics or Statistics
  • Biological Science Group admission, must have cleared with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, where B could be Biology or Biotechnology; at +2 level.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by the respective affiliating universities of the Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs).

Candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025, as well as those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply.

BA BEd

Candidates must have passed the +2, Higher Secondary, Senior Secondary, or an equivalent examination in the Science, Commerce, or Arts stream with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. Only candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply.

MSc Ed

 

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics) programme must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) at the Class 12 level. In this context, Mathematics may be replaced by Statistics where applicable.

Applicants must have passed the +2/Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary examination or an equivalent qualification recognised by a board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by University of Mysore, the affiliating university of Regional Institute of Education Mysore.

Only candidates who passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply for the programme.

 

Integrated BEd MEd (3 Year)

A postgraduate degree in Science / Social Science / Humanities from a recognized Institute with a minimum 55 % marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates).

MEd (2 Year)

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. programme must have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in any of the following qualifying programmes. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
(i) BEd

(ii) BA BEd

(iii) BSc BEd

(iii) BElEd

(iv) DElEd with a bachelor's degree (With 50% marks in each)

MA (Education Technology)

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
