It is the best place for the college experience.

Placements: No placements were offered at that time, but currently, the department was making arrangements for placements. But the knowledge students get there will help them to find a good job on their own. Many students studied there now and were well settled. If students were capable to study on their own, students will get a very better understanding of the subject and its environment.

Infrastructure: It was a central university, students can expect all facilities available in the modern education system. Library was one of highly featured, very big and students can find almost every book they want. It provides a gym, playground, Wi-Fi, a computer laboratory for each department, a separate air-conditioner reading room, very spacious hostels, and a beach nearby.

Faculty: There were a total of 8 faculty members in the department of economics. But only 3 faculty members were very good at explaining things. Other faculty members were average compared to other central universities. If students were looking for a better college experience then it was the perfect place.

Other: For a good college experience, it was the best place in India. Students will experience all Indian cultures in one place.

Pondicherry University is the best in environment and its curriculum. It provides quality education.

Placements: The department of economics invites the students for placement in various MNCs and national companies like SPI Global, Infosys Chennai, Cognizant Chennai, etc. and the range of salary they provide starts from 20,000 rupees to 50,000 rupees. The companies recruit students for the posts of project manager, clerk, project assistant, etc.

Infrastructure: The department of economics comes under the school of management and it has all those facilities which a student looks for. The department has AC classrooms, water purifier, computer lab, library and an auditorium. The university provides hostel facility with good quality food in the mess. The hostel rooms are very neat and clean and instant service is provided by the service wing without any complaint.

Faculty: The department of economics has 2 professors, 1 associate and 5 assistant professors. All the faculty members are good in their respective fields of specialization. The department also has guest faculty members for various subjects. They also provide various softcore paper other than hardcore, which is useful for our career.

Other: The department of economics conducts various national conferences and invites guests from across India to enhance the students' knowledge in various aspects of economics. National and inter university fests are also conducted by the department, which further enhances the students' quality of learning new things. National seminars are also conducted by the department where students from various universities participate and present various topics on economics.

Really good infrastructure, facilities and environment.

Placements: This university provides placement. But it is uncertain as most the Masters students from this university either go for PhD or for government jobs like IAS, IES etc. So this department provides some placement but it is irregular. If any batch demands for placements, then they will provide with it. Mostly economic analyst or data analysis jobs in south Indian companies are offered in the recruitment.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this university is very good. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled, projector and good sound system enabled. Hostels are enabled with good Wi-Fi speed. 24-hours open health centre is available for students. There is a library with a good collection of books with a digitised system. There is a reading study hall which provides 16 hours a day study time. Students can play football, cricket, hockey, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis, skating etc. The physical education department provides all possible playing equipment.

Faculty: It is a very good experience for me of being a part of this university. Being one of the most famous central universities, it has very good faculty members. At our time, we had 10 faculty members including part-time members also. All the faculty members are very helpful and great at their field. The PhD scholars are very helpful. They will help you in all the way possible in case of absence of any faculty member.

Other: It was ranked 13 when we got our admission in UGC. It is a central university with very famous personalities as our faculties. But as I said, it is a place of academics. Most of the students studying here go for PhD. The environment here is very pleasant. The beach can be seen from the gate of Pondicherry University and it is full of bio-diversity.

Other: The department of Economics has students from across India and from all social and economic backgrounds. This helps to give a better understanding of India and its socio-politico-economic situation which is very much relevant for students of economics. We have faculty specialized in Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Money and Banking, Financial Economics, Development Economics, Industrial Economics and Population Studies. Overall the atmosphere is good. There is a separate computer lab for the department. The school of management library is well stocked with all relevant economics books but are only for reference. The campus life is vibrant with a lot of cultural activities and eateries in and around the university.
