B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture - Batch of 2025
2.8
Good college for agriculture students with best facilities, average placement, and infrastructure.
Placements: I am a BSc (hons) Ag student in SVPUAT Meerut. In my course, in one batch there are 125 students and the highest package is 5 lakh per year and the lowest package is 3 lakh per annum.100% of the students got internships in KVK Pesticide Company or many others.
Infrastructure: For BSc Ag students, the lab is good, and the university's library is one of the best in the west, with all facilities such as wifi, air conditioning, and all books related to your course. The classrooms are good; there are smart classrooms. The hostel rooms are average.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful but some teachers are not. All teachers are qualified with PhDs. The teaching quality is good. Yes, this course is relevant. Exams are difficult in semester; passing marks are 50 marks in 100. Passing percentages are 55%.
Other: I belong to a wealthy family and in this course we study about agriculture that helps to know about crops and their management. Every year on October 2, there is a foundation day event, a university on the highway and near a metro station, the government provides scholarships and they also do extra curricular activities.

Absolutely satisfied with my college because of faculty, good placement and good infrastructure.
Placements: About 40% of students get placed, and the majority go on to higher education. The average salary package is around 4-5 LPA. Companies that have recruited here include Dhanuka, Chemical Fertilizers, Dabur, and Britannia. Students also get internship opportunities; during my time in my batch, some students got internships at Dhanuka Agritech. About 40% of students get internship opportunities. The maximum roles offered are for field sales, sugarcane inspector, and marketing.
Infrastructure: The university has good facilities and infrastructure. The classrooms and labs are well-equipped, and the wifi works well on campus. The library is newly inaugurated, and it has excellent facilities. The hostels have good food and comfortable rooms. The university organizes sports competitions every year, and students can participate in national-level competitions.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable, and the curriculum is relevant to the field. Attendance is strictly enforced, with 85% required, but the course load is manageable for students who are good learners. Semester exams are not difficult, and the passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course because there is a lot of scope for growth in the agriculture sector. There are also a lot of government exams that can lead to a good salary. However, employment opportunities should be increased in this sector, as there are not that many jobs in private companies. The campus surroundings are great, and students can enjoy college life to the fullest. In addition, there are scholarships for students from Uttar Pradesh and ICAR scholarships for students who came through ICAR. Sports and other competitions such as debates, dance, singing, skits, and essays are also held from time to time.

The campus vibe is very good for teaching and research.
Placements: Mostly, most students are placed after completing this course. The highest package for placements is around 4-6 LPA, while the lowest placement is approximately 2.5-3.0 LPA annually. Most students participate in internship programs, and the college is connected to various companies and entrepreneurs.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are available throughout the hostel, labs, classrooms, library, and college campus. Labs and classrooms are in proper working condition, with smart boards and digital boards in the classrooms. Hostel facilities are excellent, and food options are available in every hostel. The university also has a hospital for the medical needs of students.
Faculty: The faculty is well qualified, with excellent teaching experience and innovative teaching skills. The teachers help improve students' research knowledge and fieldwork skills. The course curriculum includes internships or training programs and extracurricular activities.
Other: I chose this course to improve my commercial agricultural skills and knowledge. The best part of this course is enhancing the productivity of agricultural and horticultural crops and promoting high-tech and precision agriculture.

It is a good college and improvement is needed.
Placements: Only about 5% to 10% of students are placed on campus. The salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA to 2.5 LPA. No students opted for internships, but instead, all chose to take entrance exams for government jobs. The stream is good. One can easily get a government job at various levels, such as food inspector, AFO, and also in rural banks. The more advanced your studies, the better your job prospects. After completing a Ph.D., one can opt to become a scientist or professor at any university.
Infrastructure: Hostels provided to students on our course are well managed. There has been no maintenance done on them since they were built, not even once in 3 or 4 years. Even the water tanks are now without lids, which makes them a perfect breeding spot for insects. There is no Wi-Fi in hostels for students in UG courses. Classrooms are fine, and the library is good. There are a few computers available at the library for students with internet facilities. The quality of food is different from hostel to hostel, but the canteen is fine enough. It just started after lockdown. There is a general clinic and hospital within the university itself. There is a playground big enough for 2 or 3 football fields. There is a dedicated basketball court and an indoor stadium with 2 courts for badminton. A gym facility is also available in the indoor stadium.
Faculty: Teachers are good, but some are a lot better than others. Some teachers provide study materials to share among the students after taking the class. That is most helpful in exams, while some teachers dictate the study material (this is a bit troublesome as a few teachers have different pronunciations that take a considerable amount of time to understand even simple words. The curriculum is broad and covers a vast majority of industries. Exams can be passed easily if you study on your own regularly. A 55% score is required to pass a degree program and a 50% score is required to pass individual subjects during a semester.
Other: I chose this course because of my love for nature and its conservation. It would be better if curriculum-related study materials were available on the website of the university. Connectivity is good as it is located near the Meerut Bypass. Events are organised in a proper manner. The whole campus is surrounded by residential areas on one side and by crop fields on the other side. The main market is only 6 kilometres away. Scholarships are provided to all students who come after clearing entrance exams. The scholarship amount is around Rs. 35,000 per year.

It is a great college, but it could be better.
Placements: Placements are available, but not all students opt for them. The average salary package offered ranges from 3-4 LPA. Students mainly opt to prepare for government exams. Only 10% of students opt for placements. Fourth-year students must go to some rural places to do an internship under the Rawe program, and they get paid for it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good as compared to other agriculture colleges. The hostels are in very good condition. Wi-Fi is provided in the central library, which is one of the best things in college. It has the biggest library in the whole western UP. Wi-Fi facility is present only in the library.
Faculty: Faculty members from some departments are great, especially in environmental studies and disaster management. Exams occur regularly and on time. The difficulty level of exams is mostly easy to moderate. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that students will get practical knowledge with theoretical knowledge.
Other: The campus is lush green. The connectivity is great. Just outside the main campus gate, we have the Delhi-Meerut highway. One can reach Rishikesh and Haridwar in very less time.

It is a great college with great faculty members and above-average placements.
Placements: Mostly the placement in the college is above average. Approximately 10-20% of the students are directly placed in top MNC across the country. The salary package offered is around 5 LPA - 6 LPA. You can also prepare for JRF if you want to exceed in the job hunt. There are many alumni of our college which are in high positions in their respective fields and are living a great life. So if you want admission to this college you can opt for it. You will never regret your decision.
Infrastructure: The campus is great. You can find greenery all around the campus and it feels rejuvenating. Mess is above average also there are courts for different indoor sports. Classrooms are in very good condition with Wi-Fi availability. You can select between different messes spread across campus like Nehru Mess, Kalam Mess, and Veterinary mess which is my favorite. We have types of hostels and they are the best for students. You are away from city pollution and noise. You can study day and night in peace without getting disturbed.
Faculty: All our teachers are great. They are more than qualified. The examinations are more on the difficult side. Overall you should be satisfied with the college faculty. This college is a great institution if you are trying to get placed in MNCs across the country. This university ranks 14th in all India for agriculture courses.
Other: The university campus is great. You can find students wandering all around the campus. It is very safe.

Review of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology.
Placements: Most of the undergraduate students aim to pursue higher studies, and thus they aim to clear entrance exams. Placements are not as high as technical degrees. As for internships, the whole 4th year of the degree program focuses on industrial and work culture sensitisation of students otherwise known as the RAWE program.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is a major let-down as there is no availability of it to date but classrooms, labs, and library are good. All the departments have their own dedicated laboratory. Hostels are good and different hostels have different standards of mess. Overall it depends on where you are eating. University's annual sports meet has a whole different vibe that charges you up to go for and if not playing to support your college.
Faculty: Most of the professors are GB Pant University alumni. The course curriculum is strictly what 5ththe dean committee for ICAR advised. Theory and practicals go hand in hand and practical aspects like practical crop production and RAWE laces the students with skills needed for the outside world. Semester exams are a bit on the tougher side as the passing percentage is 50 which is pretty average. Scoring 80 to 85% is a bit tough.
Other: Everything on the campus is fine except the 85% attendance compulsion. Every student must maintain an 85% attendance (which can be maintained with the help of a medical fitness certificate in case of illness) along with a 50% academic result. Any student having attendance below 75% will not be allowed to sit in the semester-end examination and would repeat the course to achieve both 85% attendance and 50% academic result to get the degree.
