M.Arch in Urban Design

School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi offers a full-time Master of Architecture (M.Arch) course of a two-year duration. Admission to the PG course is based on valid GATE or CEED scores. SPA Delhi offers MArch in three specialisations, including Architectural Conservation, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Design. The final selection for admission to this course is based on performance in the qualifying exam, portfolio of work, personal interaction with faculty and/or written test, interest and motivation for the chosen study and work experience. The fee is INR 2.36 lakh. This fee amount comprises just the tuition fee. Additionally, for the hostel facility, a fee of INR 1.23 Lacs has to be paid along with the one-time payment of INR 20,000. It is not necessary for all aspirants to take this test. Only candidates with a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated subject area other than the course-specific ones need to take the exam. This exam is conducted by ETS. GRE Test scores shall be available 10 to 15 days from the examination. Read more about the exam here.

Admission to the SPA Delhi M.Arch course is based on the fulfilment of the eligibility and selection criteria. Candidates who are selected and make it to the rank list, prepared on the basis of the GATE/CEED score, can confirm their admission by visiting the admission office in person.

School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi grants M.Arch admissions considering the applicants' performance in the qualifying exam, portfolio of work, personal interaction with faculty and/or written test, interest and motivation for the chosen study, and work experience. Moreover, at the time of admission, students shall submit the scorecard of the entrance test, pass certificates for academic records, etc., or the school holds the right to cancel the admission.

Admission to most of the programmes of SPA Delhi is entrance-based. The institute considers scores in GATE/ CEED for M.Arch and MPlan, JEE Main (Paper-II)/ DASA UG for BArch, CEED for MDes and JEE Main (Paper-II) for BPlan programmes. Hence, entrance exam scores are required for admission in UG or PG courses at the institute. Selected candidates are requirement to participate in the counselling rounds and pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

The courses offered by the school are BArch, M.Arch, MPlan, BPlan, and MDes. In addition, SPA Delhi offers two doctoral courses as well. These courses are offered in the Architecture & Planning, Design, Humanities & Social Sciences stream. The full-time and part-time PhD courses are offered in various specialisations, including Architecture, Industrial Design, Environmental Planning, Housing, etc.
