Thapar University is a trap if you don't know this.
Placements: About 88% of students get placed in various companies and most of them are core and consulting. The starting salary package offered is about 13 LPA - 20 LPA. After some experience, they assign you a higher position. Some companies include Nvidia, TCS, Reliance, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are air-conditioned and proper seating arrangements are available. The food quality is okay. It is not very good and not very bad. You can't expect too much from the hostel. Labs are well-equipped with equipment. Faculty and sports facilities are top-notch. There are various cafes and restaurants on campus for parties.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified but not every teacher is good because some are very bad at teaching. They are from MIT or IIT but they don't know how to teach. Some are very hill and love to teach. The course makes you feel good because they respect students' mental health. Exams are very tiring. The grading system is so bad.
Other: Mine is electronic and instruments and control system. I have a keen interest in the control system in the aviation industry and want to learn more about it. They have to improve some faculty in this department. Fests are so boring and waste. We have to go on a trip for 3 days.

Breakdown of Thapar university and its legacy .
Placements: According to the recent report, 50/60 students were placed in my course. The highest package for my course is 25 lacs for technical, and the highest package is 45 lacs; the average package offered nowadays is 6–8 lacs. The top recruiting companies are TCL, Apple, Titan, and Amazon. Around 50% of students got internships. Top roles offered basically depend on recruiters .
Infrastructure: Facilities are the best, especially the classroom and library. We have a three-story building with a library. Hostel quality is best, according to me but food in mess is average and medical facilities is best. There is an ambulance on campus. Sports teams are like average but sport facilities and infrastructure are best, according to me .
Faculty: Teaching is good, but labs are well maintained, according to me. My course deals with sound and control engineering but mostly people get jobs in teaching. Exams depend on the teacher but the passing percentage is high. Teaching in Thapar is improving because of international tie-ups.
Other: Events are best and crowd is mixed but lovely. I chose this course to study control engineering or more .

I would recommend students to join this college.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 40 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. The top recruiting company is Samsung. More than 60% of students got internships in top companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on our campus. Laboratory is well-equipped and teachers allow us to repeat the experiment if we wish to learn. The classrooms are old-fashioned but equipped with projectors. The library is peaceful and several books are available. Hostels are beautiful and each has its perks. The food quality is better. Medical facilities are good. Dispensary is available 24X7, and ambulance is also available. The hospital bills are reimbursed by this college. Our campus is equipped with many sports grounds. Badminton court, swimming pool, tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, football ground, and table tennis hall are available. Gym and badminton courts are also provided in this college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and understanding. They are very knowledgeable in their respective fields. The course curriculum is relevant to our future jobs, and some courses are diverse to other branches to help us for a better future. Semester exams are moderate. The pass percentage is 33% with a condition of 25% marks in MST and EST evaluations.
Other: This college is better than many NITs.

Review of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: I think the placements in TIET are degrading day by day due to more intake of students and decreasing cut-offs but still, its median salary package offered is 8.1 LPA which is quite better than some top colleges in North India. The highest salary package offered is 42 LPA. Top companies such as Optum, De Shaw, McKinsey, Adobe, Focus Energy, JP Morgan, and many more visit our campus for internships and placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is divided. Some new buildings look very good and modern but the old hostels and classrooms are of the era of the 1970s. Still, it looks good. In the hostel, there should be pest control and more cleanliness.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are average. Some teachers are from IITs and NITs but some others especially, the new entries are not good. They do not know how to teach and they just teach for salary. So we have to attend classes but we don't understand in some classes in which the teacher is not good. So we have to learn from youtube.

Our college provides good placements and infrastructure.
Placements: Thapar is well-known for its placements. From the EIC branch, almost every student got placed in the previous year. Placements in the IT sector are more as compared to that of core companies. But that does not mean core companies do not visit our college. I personally know my senior who got placed in Reliance with a salary package of more than 8.5 LPA. You have to grab the command on your core subjects to get placed in core companies. The benefit of being in EIC is that you are eligible for all companies except for some.
Infrastructure: Thapar has a world class-infrastructure. It has a world-class library named Nava Nalanda Central Library. If you are really interested in studying, then it is the best place for you. You can find every book and magazine here whether it is of your subject or competition. You can find YOJNA magazines and the polity book of M. Laxmikant. Thapar has world-class hostels. There are M and O hostels for boys and an N hostel for girls, which are iconic hostels. They are like five-star hotels. You will find a fountain, TV rooms, a skywalk, a laundry facility, 24x7 guards, and caretakers in the hostel. A mess of new hostels is run by third-party company Sodexo. Food is good in taste. You are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A mess committee is formed, which consists of students. The menu of each week is discussed with the committee, mess staff, and chefs. There are night canteens that operate till 12:00 AM during normal days and till 2:00 AM during exam days.
Faculty: Our college has very good faculty members. Faculty members have a lot of knowledge. They are so supportive that they never get irritated with doubts and questions. You can ask as many questions as you want to them. You will get opportunities to do research work with faculty members. They are always ready to support irrespective of you are from their department or not. Two exams are taken each semester. One is a mid-semester test, and the other is an end-semester. Sessional tests of 10-15 marks are taken during each semester. There are lab evaluations and Viva also. You can get extra marks in the lab evaluations if you maintain a good relationship with the teacher throughout the semester.
