B.E. in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2027
3.2
3Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Good infrastructure with AC campus but the mess food is average.
Placements: About 85% of students definitely get placed in the main courses of computer engineering and computer science. Some students even get very high starting packages as well. Top roles offered are usually SDE, product managers, data analysts, and web developers.
Infrastructure: Labs and classroom are good. The library has a vast collection of books and reference material with large sitting areas. But the baggage area outside is quite small in comparison. The sports centre is great, and has good quality equipment. The food in hostels is not that great though.
Faculty: Some of the old teachers have great teaching experience but are quite strict. The course curriculum is very much based on exams only. There are ofcourse, courses available to make the students industry-ready. Semester exams are relatively difficult to get an A grade but you can pass the exams with some light study with cramming stuff.

This college is something great that everyone should experience. The infrastructure is top-notch.
Placements: I have chosen Computer Science engineering, the top branch. Highest package was 55 LPA, and top companies come to recruit. As heard from seniors, competition is quite tough, we need to be perfectionists in our fields, with overall development.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi in the whole building. Library is great, very beautifully made, and the labs are well maintained with all equipments. We have all medical facilities, and mess food is all delicious with hygiene maintained. We have all the games from table tennis to swimming. Infrastructure is good, very clean and maintained,
Faculty: Faculty is great. Semesters exams are quite difficult, they give practical knowledge too. I believe working hard and smart is the main task.
Other: Events are top-notch. Crowd from different places. Many activities, good placement.

B.E. in Electronics and Computer Engineering - Batch of 2027

Thapar University offers excellent infrastructure and is well-equipped.
Placements: Around 85%-90% of students from ECED got placed. The highest package is 36 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is around 6.5 LPA-7 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, Infosys, and Deloitte. Nearly 75% of students got internships at firms like DRDO, Adobe, and Goldman Sachs.
Infrastructure: Thapar's ECED department has smart classrooms, advanced labs, Wi-Fi, and a rich library. Hostels are clean with good Wi-Fi, mess food is decent, and canteens offer variety. Medical aid is 24/7 available. Great sports facilities include gym, courts, and playfields.
Faculty: Teachers in ECED at Thapar are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is strong with a focus on concepts and practicals. The curriculum is updated and industry-oriented. Exams are moderate. Pass percentage is around 85%-90%.

B.E. in Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) - Batch of 2027
3.8
3Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Decent faculty, placements, great infrastructure, and enjoyable campus life.
Placements: No students have been placed yet in my course, as the first batch of it is still to pass out. Otherwise, VLSI domain companies come to college often and hire for design engineer roles. People also get roles like testing engineer, basic engineer, etc. Salaries vary for top companies, ranging from 16 to 18LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities are great here, in fact, one of the best compared to other colleges. Fully air conditioned classrooms, the biggest library in India, and Wi-Fi connectivity are available in every block. Hostels are no less, they provide the best facilities here. The mess food is reasonable, medical is a call away, you can use the gym, etc.
Faculty: Professors are good. They have knowledge and are well qualified, but some of them lack teaching qualities. Course curriculum is absolutely industry relevant, and it will help for sure. Semester exams are decent, you can study 1 to 2 hours per day and get very good marks. The pass percent is 35%.

B.E. in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2028

The best college in India.
Placements: I am going to pass out in 2028. I study AIML here, with a batch of 120 students. 90% of students get placed. The highest package can go up to 3 crore per annum, and the lowest is 4 LPA to 5 LPA. Nvidia, Google, Apple, Microsoft, and various other companies come here. I'm still in 2nd year, so students are looking for an internship for this summer. Most everyone does one. Top roles offered in my branch are data scientist, ML engineering, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great. The library is very beautiful and big. Wi-Fi is great. It's available everywhere. Labs have very good infrastructure. Hostels are also great. But the food in the mess is not that great. Medical facilities are also great. You can get an emergency ambulance whenever needed.
Faculty: Teachers are great. They help a lot with projects. But it's all on you if you approach them or not. The course curriculum is very relevant. If you study everything in detail, you will be industry-ready. Semester exams are medium to hard.

Thapar University with my perspective.
Placements: Placements are decent for the fields they offer, but they are increasing the intake of students, which will likely decrease placements of the college in the upcoming years. Currently, the median salary for B.Tech graduates is around 9-10 LPA, which is relatively low.
Infrastructure: Thapar University boasts a modern campus spread over 250 acres, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and advanced research centers. The library is one of the largest in North India, housing thousands of books, journals, and digital resources. The campus also includes innovation labs, incubation centers, and high-speed internet access to support students' academic and research activities.
Faculty: The faculty at Thapar University is a mix of Ph.D. holders, industry professionals, and research scholars. They focus on a practical and research-driven teaching approach, interacting real-world applications with theoretical knowledge. Many professors are actively involved in cutting-edge research projects, contributing to national and international journals.

No, Class 12 marks are not enough to get into Thapar University since the university mainly admits students on an entrance basis only. Students have to provide national-level entrance exam score to get selected. The university considers JEE Mains, NEET, CUET, etc. in addition to Class 12 marks. You
