The college has a great infrastructure and environment for studying.

Placements: TNU is one of the best colleges in Eastern India from the aspect of placements. The training and placement cell of The Neotia University is very active. The placement department is well-connected with the industry leaders. Our college frequently organises training programs, workshops, seminars and talks by industry experts, which help us to become industry-ready. This college has very good placement record for many years. Almost 90% of the students from 2019 pass out batch of marine engineering & nautical science got placed in MOL, Anglo-Eastern, Destan Ship Management Pvt Ltd, Apeejey Shipping, Mercator, ONGC and Ocean Sparkle. The salary offered depends upon the company and also on the post.

Infrastructure: It has a huge and lush green campus with all the essential things like a hostel for hostelers, 2 big fields, 2 basketball courts, badminton court, gym, canteen and everything. It provides all modern teaching techniques with the best classrooms. For the marine department, there is a fully operational main propulsion engine, simulator room, engine control room, lifeboat and all auxiliaries for giving a sensation of a real ship. There are various labs and workshops, and all classrooms are of the modern type with overhead projector, etc. Hostel rooms are on twin sharing basis. There are facilities for all types of outdoor and indoor games which are coached by experienced coaches, swimming pool and gym facilities. There are a doctor and a medical harbor available 24x7 for students. Everyone on the campus is very friendly. Because of all the facilities, the university earned good fame.

Faculty: Faculty members are one of the best. They are highly qualified, very helpful, knowledgeable, experienced, cooperative and friendly as well. Their method of teaching is also very effective and easily understandable, and by the teaching methods, students can easily get an interest in the subjects. They teach all essential and updated things and notes which helps students to become industry-ready. Faculty members take tests whenever required. They help us in clearing doubt by providing extra classes whenever required.

Other: I have chosen this course because it is one of the best professional courses, and it is different from any other honors course. Many clubs are available in our college in which students can participate and learn new things, like a technical club, marine club, photography club, entrepreneurship club, music club, nature club and many others. Every year we arrange an annual fest with many interesting and enjoyable events like a famous singer night, DJ night, Battle of Bands, Feet on Dance, Rap Battle, fashion show, street play, EDM night, etc. All memorable and honorable days like independent day, republic day and national language day are celebrated by respective clubs.

One of the top colleges in eastern India for maritime studies.

Placements: The Neotia University has an industry partnership for internship and placement with Destan ship management pvt. ltd., Blue bird shipping and K-Ship. There is very good placement record for many years. 90% of our 2019 pass out batch of marine engineering and nautical science have been placed in Destan ship management pvt. ltd., Apeejay shipping, MOL, Mercator, ONGC and Ocean sparkle. The university also has an active training and placement cell and organizes many training programmes, workshops, seminars and talks by industry experts that help us become industry ready.

Infrastructure: I am very fortunate to studying in The Neotia University and being able to pursue my dream of becoming a merchant navy deck officer as this institution is quite possibly the best university in eastern India for maritime studies (B.Sc. in nautical science or B.Tech in marine engineering) which is DG shipping (government. of India) approved. It has amazingly well-built infrastructure including a one-of-a-kind "Ship-in-campus" having a fully operational 4000 BHP ship engine along with many machineries available ( like generator, oil-water separator, boiler, etc. ), Bridge simulator, workshop, seamanship & firefighting labs, smart classrooms and also a free fall lifeboat. All help in our practical training, guided by a highly-experienced teaching faculty. Life on our lush green campus is very enjoyable and vibrant as there are great student interactions among the numerous streams and departments, along with all outdoor sports facilities like football grounds, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, swimming pool, and gym being available. Hostels are nice and clean, with table tennis and carrom boards in each. Whole campus is Wi-Fi- enabled. There is a well-stocked library and a spacious multipurpose hall for various seminars and cultural events.

Faculty: Our HOD and all faculty members are ideals for me, who are vastly experienced master mariners and chief engineers who have worked in top shipping companies (MOL, Anglo-Eastern, etc.). For many years. They ensure our pre-sea training is up to the mark and strictly discipline oriented, at the same time always being helpful and encouraging towards each student. They always clear any doubts that we ask, in a way that we might understand it properly. Their knowledge and experiences of life at sea are truly inspirational for us. Course curriculum is also very relevant to preparing us to what all we will face at sea both practically and theoretically.

Other: There are many intra-college and inter-college events organised, like our annual college fest "Impulse" having many exciting events like dance competition, battle of bands, rap battle, fashion show, DJ night, guest concert (last year there was underground authority) etc. There is intra-college sports tournaments ("Rampage") for football, cricket, basketball, badminton, volleyball etc.

Good for knowledge but not for placement.

Placements: It was there some years ago, but since the year I joined, the placement has dropped, and only a few cadets are getting placed here. It's not even 50%. They're trying to place us, but not in good companies. Firstly, they assured us that they would provide 100% placement, but I can't see them staying true to their word.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good when it was built, but the maintenance by the college is very poor. They choose the cheapest way to repair and use that material for a long time. Accommodation isn't enough for boys who stay in a group in one room. The food quality isn't too good; we have to raise our voice every time for food.

Faculty: The faculty is good here, no doubt. They're perfect at their work, but they're restricted from sharing their knowledge because there are not enough practical instruments here to teach us in depth. Those who want knowledge can come here, but don't expect anything else from the college.

Other: The campus is huge, and they conduct many programs here.

Placements: I am very happy to share that in my batch, 100% of students have been placed in reputed companies like Destan Ship Management PVT LTD., K-Shipping, Blue Bird Shipping, Naif Marine Service, Apeejay Shipping, Shree Shipping, and many more. I've got a package of 12.5L PA. In my batch, 100% of students have been got internships during courses.

Infrastructure: 60-acre lush green campus with a beautiful atmosphere. All classrooms are smart classrooms. We always get free Wi-Fi facilities. From the university, we can avail AC Transport facilities. There is a big library inside the campus, where 81k+ national and international books are available. Medical facilities are always available. Hostel days are memorable days. Apart from that, many clubs are available for spending free time.

Faculty: Faculty members are so helpful. They are always ready to help the students. They never get bored if I ask 1 question 100 times. Their way of teaching is so unique. We can easily understand the concepts and all. All faculty members are highly qualified and super experienced.

Other: "Captain of the Ship" this word always cases me during school time. That was my dream. So when I saw that I could fulfill my dream at TNU. I've got 50% scholarship on my tuition fees.
