UniPune admission 2025 for a majority of PG and UG courses, such as MSc, MA, MTech, MCom, BA and BBA, among others, is based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. Additionally, there are numerous courses, such as MCA, MMM, Advanced Diploma, MPH, E-MBA, LLM and M.Lib.I.Sc, among others, where the admission process is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam (Class 12 for UG admission and UG degree for PG admission). The university also accepts MAH CET, MAH MCA MET,  CMAT/ CAT/ ATMA and other exams for admission to a number of courses offered at its campus or its affiliated colleges.

Thus, students will not be able to get direct admissions to Pune University.

The Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), Savitribai Phule Pune University, has released the placement stats for its MBA Class of 2024. According to the latest report, the University achieved an 80.7% placement rate for its MBA Class of 2024. Both the universities are good. However, let us look at the facts related to both the universities. Talking about the Pune University it has been ranked 23 under the 'University' category by the NIRF in 2024. On the other hand, Mumbai University has been ranked 61 in the same category by the NIRF in 2024. Savitribai Phule Pune University is recognised by UGC, it is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'.

SPPU is accredited A grade by NAAC. On a contrary, Mumbai University has been approved by the UGC and AIU, this 160-year old university has bagged A+ Grade via NAAC. Looking at these facts, it can be established that Pune University is a better university when compared to Mumbai University.

Savitribai Phule Pune University  (also known as UNIPUNE, Pune University and SPPU), is a collegiate public state university. The University is located at Pune, was established in 1949 through Poona University Act and is one of the premier universities in India. Recognised by UGC, it is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. The University is accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC. With over 40+ academic departments,  10+ faculties and 50+ research centres, the university also has about 300+ recognised research institutes and over 700 affiliated colleges offering UG, PG, diploma, PG diploma, PhD and certificate courses.

The eligibility criteria for Pune University (UniPune) BTech programmes require a candidate to have passed Class 12 with minimum 50% in relevant subjects. Hence, a candidate scoring 50% in Class 12 is eligible to apply for BTech at UniPune. However, the selection process of the university is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in one of the accepted entrance exams. The accepted entrance exams for BTech admission at the university include Pune University Online Entrance Exam (OEE)/JEE Main/MHT CET.
