Hello! Himadri Basu, it is very nice to hear from you about enquiry of cutoff ranks or enquiry about possibilities of getting the branches you mention with ranking of about 1.2 Lacs. To put you into a proper perspective let me say that the first round closing rank for CSE was 7000 while for the other branches that you have mention it varies and is up to about 14000. This does not mean that you will not get admission, it only means that you need to wait for vacancies to arise as students who are in the better position leave for IIT or nits and then the students who have scored less get a chance for admission with lower scores. I Have not much idea about these colleges, recently my cousin completed his graduation from Chandigarh University and can say its a good college. All three universities are good. The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics, and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants)
The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics. He should demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimised solutions using simulated environments of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 25 LPA, while the average salary is 5 LPA.
