Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT Chennai) is a private institute,  located in Kilpauk, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has four campuses in Kilpauk,  Tidel Park,  Kalpakkam, and Vizag. Established in 1998,  HIMT is the only Institute in India to offer the maximum courses (90+) approved by the DG of Shipping. The institute is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. HIMT Chennai is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) and the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India) with a sanctioned intake of 60 students for each course.

Q:   Where can a candidate find HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) cut off?
A: 

Candidates who want to take admission in HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) need to appear for the IMU-CET entrance exam which is conducted at the university level. There is no fixed cut off for IMU-CET exam. Only after the results of IMU-CET entrance exam are out and can be checked on the college website. But for taking admission in HIMT College, the candidate needs to clear psychometric test, medical xxamination which is followed by the Interview and pre-sea training. After clearing all these stages, the candidate can then take admission in HIMT college.

Q:   What is the selection process for B Tech and what is the minimum 12th class percentage required for HIMT?
A: 
The selection in BTech at Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, HIMT is on the basis of Class 12 marks. Applicants must have qualified Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Maths from a recognised Board. The minimum percetage required in Class 12 for being eligible for admission to BTech at HIMT is 60%. Other than this, other eligibility criteria includes parameters such as age, height, weight and vision.
