Learn about the fundamentals of Interaction Design
Are you looking for a non-conventional career option in design where you can make a huge impact? A course in Interaction Design can be a great place to start. Interaction design, also known as IxD, is the practice of designing digital products and services that are engaging and with well-planned interactions. As interaction design focuses on the way users interact with products, the goal is to create products that enable them to reach their objectives as effectively as possible. It is, therefore, essential to understand how users and technology communicate.
Interaction design and user experience design are often used interchangeably. While they are not the same, interaction design is still an essential part of UX design. Interaction design focuses on the moment of use and ways to improve the interactive experience, whereas UX design is more concerned with the complete user journey, encompassing factors like branding, design, usability, and function. Interaction design is crucial in the domain of the user experience because if consumers are hampered by obsolete or inconvenient features, the design will fail, regardless of the brand behind it.
What does an Interaction Designer do?
An interaction designer is responsible for the functionality of the user interface. Essentially, they help create a user-friendly experience. Their duties and responsibilities differ from company to company, project to project, and team to team. Generally, interaction designers lead the overall product development process and create design strategies.

In IxD, designers typically operate in five dimensions: words (1D), visual representations (2D), physical objects/space (3D), time (4D), and behaviour (5D). Text, such as button labels, falls under the category of words (1D), while images, typography, icons, and other graphical components are examples of visual representations (2D). The medium through which customers engage with the product or service is defined as physical objects/space (3D), and time (4D) is used to describe media that vary over time, such as animations, movies, and audio. Finally, the fifth dimension, behaviour (5D), is concerned with how the first four dimensions define the interactions of a product.
In general, interaction designers examine all five dimensions when considering how users interact with a product or service. They are used to help visualise the real-world expectations of a user in connection to a design that has not been released yet.
Why choose Interaction Design?
Interaction Design is, at its most basic level, the creation of user-product interactions. The emphasis on clear, forceful communication is one of the most important aspects of interface design. By carefully picking words and pictures, Interaction Design seeks to present vital information as clearly as possible.
It is also worth noting that the way something is created is intended to evoke and affect the user's response. Because everything – from font and colour to layout and graphics – may affect how a user feels, IxD designers take into consideration advanced user research to create the greatest possible experience for them.

If Digital Marketing is your sole purpose of pursuit, then I would definitely suggest looking into a short-term course (preferably 6–8 months) which focuses on Digital Marketing in every sense.
Depending on your level of knowledge on the subject, I would suggest learning from scratch is most ideal. H
