UCEED Exam: Important documents and last minute tips

IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED Entrance exam on January 18 (9 am - 12 noon). The UCEED reporting time is 7 AM. It is mandatory to carry the UCEED Hall Ticket and Photo ID proof to the UCEED Centre. UCEED Admit card is available on the Candidate portal. Candidates can download it till January 18, 2026.

The candidate has to remain in the seats for the entire duration of the paper. No student will be allowed to exit the examination hall until the test ends. The UCEED 2026 question paper will carry 300 marks. Questions will be asked from topics like visualisation and spatial ability, observation and design sensitivity, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity, as well as design thinking and problem-solving. The validity of the UCEED 2026 scorecard is one year.

Important documents on UCEED 2026 Exam Day

Some important things and documents you should not forget to carry on UCEED exam day are as mentioned below:

1. Admit Card: The candidate needs to carry with them a printout of the UCEED 2026 admit card. Any candidate who doesn’t possess a valid admit card for UCEED exam will not be allowed to take the exam.

The admit card will contain the following information like the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, examination schedule, examination centre details, and other exam-related instructions.

2. ID Proof: Candidates need to carry a valid photo ID proof to their UCEED exam centre. The official website informs: “Each candidate’s identity will be verified by invigilators as well as IIT representatives. If the identity of the candidate is in doubt, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the examination. However, the authorities, at their discretion, may permit the candidate to appear for the examination after completing certain formalities. No extra time will be allowed for completing the examination, instead of the time taken for completing these formalities”.

The ID proof that candidates need to carry to their UCEED test centre can be any one from the list:

  • Student ID card issued by the current school/college
  • Passport
  • Driving license
  • Aadhar Card
  • Voters ID Card
  • PAN Card

3. Wrist Watch: Time is a matter of grave concern in UCEED 2026. So, the candidate may wear an analog wristwatch to the UCEED 2026 exam centre, as it will help them keep a tab on time and complete the questions within the time frame that you fixed before commencing the exam. But be careful of the fact that your watch doesn’t have a calculator or any other text, because you can be pulled up for using unfair means in the exam.

Candidates need to note that they cannot carry electronic devices like mobile phones, smartphones, calculators, tablets, etc., to their UCEED 2026 exam centre. Apart from this, students will also not be allowed to carry an abacus, log books, slide rule, geometry box as well or study material of any kind inside the exam hall.

4. The candidate must also bring their own stationery to the exam hall, including pencils, erasers, sharpeners, ball-point pen, etc. Exam officials will not provide any stationery to the candidate.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Q:   Will I get a direct admission in LPU with 65 % marks in Class 12?
A: 

LPU does not offer direct admission. However, admission to few courses is merit-based.  Aspirants scoring a 65% aggregate have a good chance of getting admission in LPU. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the university to apply online. To apply for LPU, aspirants need to register for LPUNEST for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. LPU admission to most of the courses is based on LPUNEST score. However, national-level entrance exam scores are also accepted for admission to BA LLB (Hons), MBA, BTech, etc. Candidates must complete Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG courses. The selection rounds are followed by counselling and document verification.

UCEED 2026: Last Minute Tips

UCEED exam is just around the corner, and some tips you should keep in mind to fare well in the exam are as mentioned below:

1. Work on Time Management

One of the first and most important tasks you need to perform in the UCEED 2026 exam is to manage your time in the best possible way. The question paper for UCEED is expected to be tricky and how you plan to navigate through the test paper is what will define your success.

2. Revise

Go through topics that are your strengths as well as ones in which you get confused easily. However, refrain from studying new topics as this will only make you more nervous, which can ultimately harm you on UCEED 2026 exam day. Also, try and check if you have studied all the important topics, basis of previous years' question papers of UCEED.

Some important topics you should consider revising before the UCEED exam are as follows:

  • Math problems
  • Colour theory
  • Puzzles involving images, patterns, etc
  • Famous personalities – designers, writers, etc
  • Indian Architectural history and facts about culture
  • History and evolution of art
  • Photography concepts

3. Be cautious of negative marking

The marking scheme for the UCEED exam has changed. There is negative marking in UCEED exam and so you should think twice before making any guesses because this can harm you immensely in UCEED 2026. The new marking scheme for UCEED exam is as mentioned below:

Apart from this, make sure that you get adequate sleep right the night before UCEED 2026 so that you head out to appear for the UCEED exam with a fresh mind.

UCEED Exam Day Guidelines

  • The IIT UCEED Exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026, 9.00 am – 12.00 noon.
  • Candidates can report at the examination centre from 7:00 am on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with a printout of the Admit Card and a Valid Original Photo Identity Proof. 
  • There will be biometric attendance at the UCEED Exam centre.
  • The identity of the candidates will be verified by invigilators as well as IIT representatives. 
  • Candidates cannot carry any electronic devices (mobile phones, smart phones, watches of any type, calculators, tablets).
  • Candidates must bring pen and pencils in a transparent packet or pouch.
  • Shades of black colour are allowed. Sketch pens, color pencils, poster colors and other colouring materials are NOT allowed inside the examination hall. 
  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall even if they finish their exam early.

If you have biology as a subject in 10+2, then you can apply for B.Des programme at IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

To apply at IIITDM, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology subjects in 10+2.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
