LPU hosts International Conference of Tourism and Hospitality

School of Hotel Management and Tourism at the LPU - Lovely Professional University on November 1 organised a two-day International Conference on Tourism & Hospitality Sector at the Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the University. The agenda of the conference was Sustainable Developmental Goals and Management Practices in Tourism & Hospitality and was attended by over hundreds of national and international tourism experts to churn out productive solutions for sustainable tourism not only in India but across the world.

Presidential address as Chief Guest of the day was made by the Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Prof S P Bansal.  Considering all human beings as tourists in one or the other way, he laid stress on poverty reduction and environment saving for achieving sustainable development goals in tourism sector. He also appreciated LPU endeavours for re-orientation of higher education in the country on the tunes of Nalanda and Takshila and as per top international standards. Guest of Honour, Deputy Adviser NAAC, Prof Devender Kawday talked about inter-relation of quality of human resource and education system in tourism sector. For sustainability, he put forward to plan all things properly. So, always adopt a regular schedule instead of doing things abruptly and irregularly.

 

Success means becoming the best person of oneself

 

The opening address to the conference was made by the special guest of the day Director University Utara Malaysia Prof Dr Azilah Kasim who forwarded integration as a critical success factor towards sustainable development goals. Key Note Speaker Director ICCCR, Jammu University, Prof Deepak Raj Gupta motivated all to be eco-friendly and true caretaker of nature’s designs, which provides us abundant sources to prosper well. Taking many illustrious and easy examples, he wanted all to be hard working, passionate and good human beings by accepting all challenges in life for the betterment of the tourism and hospitality sector.

Alongside many technical sessions are also arranged where eminent scholars from the top educational institutions, including University of South Florida; Business University Indonesia; King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah; Kastamonu University Turkey; Shillong University;  Pondicherry University; IGNOU, Kashmir University; Kota University Rajasthan; Panjab University Chandigarh; MDU Rohtak; Central University of Himachal Pradesh; GNDU Amritsar and more are participating.
