LPU hosts international conference on Biosciences and Biotechnology

The School of Bioengineering and Biosciences of the Lovely Professional University (LPU) organised a two-day International Conference on Biosciences and Biotechnology: Community Science on November 4. For this eminent scientists and academics from across ten countries, including the United States, Australia, South Korea, Singapore and top Indian institutions participated in a massive number to churn out beneficial solutions for the global society's welfare.

The School of Bioengineering and Biosciences of the LPU - Lovely Professional University organised a two-day International Conference on Biosciences and Biotechnology: Community Science on November 4. For this eminent scientists and academics from across ten countries, including the United States, Australia, South Korea, Singapore and top Indian institutions participated in a massive number to churn out beneficial solutions for the global society's welfare. At the conference's inauguration, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal called on everyone, especially students, to go for the practical usefulness of the conference's scientific knowledge.

Director of the NCI Clinical Research Foundation, New Jersey (USA) Dr Asht Mishra, talked about his important and successful experiments on rats to recover sensory-motor function after central nervous system injury. It's actually a ray of great hope for people ridden by the accident. Vice President, Kam Teck Inc., Maryland (USA) Dr Ashok Dhawan shared on Sucrose Transport Systems in Sugarcane and reported that sugarcane solar energy conversion efficiency is the highest in the plant world. In the sense of novel drug discovery, Dr. Ragupathi Raja Kannan from Konkuk University, Seoul (South Korea) spoke about "Seaweed metabolites."

Dr Rekha Jakhar from Nanyang University of Technology, Singapore, shared important knowledge about cells of breast cancer. Using traditional Indian medicine 'Ayurveda' expertise, Head of Botanical Drug and R&D Program Sun Pharmaceuticals, Dr Ruchi Sood provided important knowledge on "Anti-Dengue Botanical Drug" that is currently needed. CSIR-Emeritus Scientist Prof P B Kavi Kishor of the University of Osmania shared on "what has been achieved so far and what must be achieved by 2050." There are many more researchers interested in channeling more ideas the next day. Poster discussions on important aspects are also taking place side by side.
