Pune University PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility and Selection
Candidates willing to get admission to PhD at Pune University must have the following eligibility qualifications:
- Master's degree or a professional degree equivalent to the master’s with at least 55% aggregate
- Candidates who have cleared the MPhil course work with at least 55% aggregate in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale
Pune University PhD admission is subject to an entrance exam conducted by SPPU, i.e. PhD Entrance Test (PET). However, those who have qualified in UGC NET (including JRF)/ CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE or teacher fellowship holders are exempted from the university-conducted entrance exam.
The University admits candidates via a two stage process (for those willing to secure admission via PET):
Stage 1: PET
The entrance test is of 100 marks (consisting of 100 MCQs of one mark each) with 50% aggregate as qualifying marks. The test contains the following type of questions:

Pune University admission for a majority of PG and UG courses, such as MSc, MA, MTech, MCom, BA and BBA, among others, is based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. Yes, it is possible to join UNIPUNE for via CAT scores. The university also considers scores in ATMA, MAT, XAT, etc. for admission. Thus, applicants who have not appeared and secured valid scores in CAT can apply for the course through the scores of different examinations. Aspirants can also get admission in MBA based on MAH CET scores via Maharashtra CAP rounds.

The list of documents required for Unioune admission and OEE registration are Score card of last qualifying exam, Mark sheet of last semester of qualifying exam, Caste certificate/ non-creamy layer certificate issued by the Government of Maharashtra – for reserved category candidates, Valid income certificate issued by the Government of Maharashtra, and Medical certificate issued by a civil surgeon in case of PwD category. Candidates must have photocopies of these documents.

UniPune admission to a majority of PG and UG courses is based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. The university offers MCA, MMM, Advanced Diploma, MPH, E-MBA, LLM and M.Lib.I.Sc, among others. Admission to a few courses is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam. The university also accepts MAH CET, MAH MCA MET, CMAT/ CAT/ ATMA and other exams for admission to a number of courses offered at its campus or its affiliated colleges.
The total seat intake of Savitribai Phule Pune University for MBA in Pharma Biotech programme is 60. The institute accepts All India Entrance Test (AIET) scores for BBA admissions. It is mandatory for all applicants to appear for the exam. The applications for the exam are open till April first week. Application fee is INR 1,050.
