Pune University PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility and Selection
Candidates willing to get admission to PhD at Pune University must have the following eligibility qualifications:
- Master's degree or a professional degree equivalent to the master’s with at least 55% aggregate
- Candidates who have cleared the MPhil course work with at least 55% aggregate in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale
Pune University PhD admission is subject to an entrance exam conducted by SPPU, i.e. PhD Entrance Test (PET). However, those who have qualified in UGC NET (including JRF)/ CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE or teacher fellowship holders are exempted from the university-conducted entrance exam.
The University admits candidates via a two stage process (for those willing to secure admission via PET):

The entrance test is of 100 marks (consisting of 100 MCQs of one mark each) with 50% aggregate as qualifying marks. The test contains the following type of questions:

The list of documents required for Unioune admission and OEE registration are Score card of last qualifying exam, Mark sheet of last semester of qualifying exam, Caste certificate/ non-creamy layer certificate issued by the Government of Maharashtra – for reserved category candidates, Valid income certificate issued by the Government of Maharashtra, and Medical certificate issued by a civil surgeon in case of PwD category. Candidates must have photocopies of these documents.

UniPune admission to a majority of PG and UG courses is based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. The university offers MCA, MMM, Advanced Diploma, MPH, E-MBA, LLM and M.Lib.I.Sc, among others. Admission to a few courses is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam. The course is offered for two-years. Moreover, the curriculum is divided in four-semesters. The syllabus includes many core and additional subjects. Also, there may be a Project/Dissertation/Internship in the last year or semester. Some first semester subjects of Managerial Economics, etc.
