Curriculum and Teaching Style

The curriculum that LPU follows is filled with the industry focus. LPU constantly pushes and encourages its students to work on various LIVE projects, work under the guidance of esteemed personnel as a part of their industry experience. To develop industry-ready human resource, LPU rigorously organizes conferences, workshops, guest lectures, and seminars for its students while inviting some of the most eminent industry experts and leaders for the same. To disseminate practical knowledge within our students, we have state-of-the-art laboratories.   

Instead of making students mere book-worms, we provide students industrial exposure so that they can prepare themselves for future challenges. Moreover, students are being prepared for cracking the interviews with top-brands such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Mercedes, and others, which reach the campus for the recruitment. For building confidence in students, LPU provides numerous opportunities to its students by making them organize various events. Further, we take pride in sharing that our biggest national-level youth fest ‘Youth-Vibe’ is also organized by our students with the help of their teachers. There are 110 clubs for LPU students, where one can join according to their respective interest and passion. Students, here, are not just limited inside the boundaries of the classroom, rather we keep on motivating them to get extensive approach beyond the limit of the boundaries.

We are living in a world that gives importance to practical knowledge more than that of a theoretical one. So, to make our students industry-ready, LPU has it’s own Google, SAP, Microsoft, and Mac Center of Excellence which gives the talented minds an edge at their skills.

LPU’s focus on extensive guest lectures, workshops, sessions, webinars and seminars, and even competitions help it to provide the students with hands on approach to the already learnt skills. Regular hackathons and sponsored in-campus knowledge exchange discussions are also amongst the prominent pillars which are holding the legacy of LPU.

There are some students also those want to be entrepreneurs. Particularly for them, LPU has its own Start-up School and incubation Center, which was inaugurated by Finance Minister of India Shri Arun Jaitely. University provides office space & equipment, technology support and seed capital to nurture the upcoming entrepreneurial talents for viable projects. Thus, it has been made more robust and approachable for an individual who has high ambitions. Here, budding entrepreneurs are guided with innovative ideas with concrete and efficient plans. Incubation Center funds ideas to implement in a better way. Business Development mentors assist students who approach with the business ideas and are also provided entrepreneurship training. In-fact one of our student's venture named “Sabstore Online Private Limited”, has been recognized by StartUp India. Not only Indian students but also our international students have their own start up at the campus. We support our students’ creative business ideas.

LPU NEST is an entrance test of LPU to numerous programs. Till 2018 this test was considered as a test to avail scholarship at LPU. From 2019, LPU NEST is not only a scholarship acquiring test but indeed has turned into a full-fledged entrance test to LPU. An applicant who successfully clears this test and joins any of the IITs/NITs, he/she can also get a study grant of up to 2 lakhs to pursue higher studies at IITs/NITs.

The pattern for the question paper in the LPU NEST is 30 questions on Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology and 20 questions based on English syllabus. There is no negative marking in this exam and each correct answer fetches 4 marks. The syllabus for this test is similar to that of the 10+2 class.

LPU is head-on toes when it comes to helping its students to excel in whichever field, they are by providing them world-class facilities and easy access to resources. If a student wants to excel top grades at LPU, he/she needs to look out for ways of solving a problem which others have not thought of yet. A student needs to have a wild mind with disciplined eyes to absorb top-notch grades. Our institution does not believe in the continuous sitting study, consuming hours of a student, rather we focus on smart work and intelligent reading. We generally tend to instruct our students that they need to understand sorting information between the two, necessary and non-necessary. This helps them dodge the unwanted waste of time and efforts, hence making them more efficient and effective at the same time.
