Introduction

DAV University is one of the best private universities in Jalandhar, Punjab. The university was founded in 2013 under the name of the DAV Trust. The university has its roots in the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic School System. The DAV trust has been transforming India's education system for the last 129 years. The university has adopted five villages in the nearby area and contributed to the social well-being of villagers.

Campus

The university has a 72-acre campus on Pathankot Bypass Road in Jalandhar, Punjab. The campus is capable in terms of its water supply, parking in the basement, and canteen for quality food. It has playgrounds considering the standard of university-level sports championships and competitions. The university has a good name in research and can get research funding from government bodies.

Important locations inside the campus

Administrative Block:

Starting from the main gate, moving straight towards the left-hand side, administrative block is located. The university has provided the facility of a State Bank of India branch and an operational ATM in this block. It enables the students to pay their fees on campus and makes their lives hassle-free. The accounts department is also located in this block. This department takes care of all the account-related issues for students and staff. The same block has one big conference hall, which is also used for admissions during the selection process. The registrar's office at the university is also in the same block on the ground floor. If we talk about the classrooms in this block, then it has only one department, which is Commerce and Business Management. Earlier, this department was also in the academic block, but later in 2016, it was shifted to this block. This block has two floors; the ground floor and the first floor. The block also has one computer lab on the first floor. Both the floors have neat and clean washrooms, which are separate for students and faculty members.

Parking facility:

The parking facility is available in the basement at the back side of the administrative block and just in front of the main gate, at a distance of almost 100–150 meters.

Mess and canteen facilities:

Kiosks are available for snacks on the roof of the basement, which is on the same level as the main ground floor. Moving out of the academic block, on the right-hand side is the university mess, which caters to the needs of all the students in the university. In the same building, one stationery shop is available, which facilitates the students for all their academic support requirements like a pen, pencil, notebook, printouts, etc. A big cafeteria is located where students, apart from regular lunch, celebrate birthdays and parties on several occasions.

Hostel facilities:

The girls' hostel is located directly in front of the academic building. The hostel is equipped with full security parameters like a female warden, a security guard, CCTV cameras, etc.

Examinations and academic blocks:

Moving straight from the girl's hostel, the university has established two buildings; one is for examinations and administration and the other one is an academic block. All the examination-related tasks are done, and in the same block, the office of the dean of academics is situated. From the administration's point of view, the building is very important as the policymakers and higher authorities of the university sit here. All the big and important meetings take place here. So this is known as the strategic point of the campus. Another block that is an academic block has the classrooms for the rest of the departments, like Biotechnology and Zoology. Between these two buildings, a reasonable amount of space has been given for kiosks and food outlets. On the left-hand side, a huge playground is available for sports lovers and fitness freaks. Students can be seen in the evening roaming around this area for an evening walk, jogging, or sports practice.

Since 2013, the university has been making continuous efforts to improve its infrastructure, which is visible once you enter the campus. It has every facility required for students, and offers quality education with good placement, which very well complements the objective of DAV University.
