Worth it for a UG degree. The main campus is scenic and beautiful. Warm college life.
Placements: The placement cell is available, but they prefer students to seek placements off-campus. In my ECE field, about 50 percent of students are placed, while many opt for higher studies. There aren't many big companies in ECE. When it comes to placements, we mostly consider off-campus opportunities or pursuing higher studies, as the degree from here is valuable. The top roles offered in my course are in teaching and non-teaching positions.
Infrastructure: The hostel is worth it, but the mess is average. The lab is average; the faculty is good, but the instruments are somewhat limited. The lab faculty are friendly, but it's better to avoid group experiments and go for self-revision during experiments. Wi-Fi is available in the laboratory and classrooms for free—just need to get your college ID and follow some simple steps. However, the speed is average.
Faculty: Teachers are average. Don't be fully dependent fully on proof. They conduct teaching, 2 midterms (theory), 1 lab mid-term, end sem lab, and end sem examination. Teachers are well qualified. Somewhat we have to study from online and library books, but teachers direct us well. Semester exams are above average in difficulty. To pass exams minimum of 40% marks are required, (internal and end sem).
Other: I have chosen this course because I wanted to do a UG degree. Faculty members should be improved somewhat.

It has a peaceful campus, natural beauty, and a lot of greenery.
Placements: Around 50% of students get placed every year with a minimum package of 2.5 LPA. The average package ranges from 4-7 LPA. The highest package offered last year was 14 LPA. One of the students from the biomedical department also got an international package of 28 LPA. The top recruiters are TCS and Infosys. Some new startups from Delhi also hire a few students. Internships are mandatory in the 6th semester. Mostly, local companies in the Northeast hire students for internships. The ECE course has few placements as compared to other departments according to states of the last 2 years. If students are coming here only for placements then I suggest them not to join it.
Infrastructure: Hostel management is not up to mark. Only students who belong to Meghalaya are in the management team. There is one security guard for one hostel who has a bare minimum role to play. Food quality is good enough to just survive. Wi-Fi speed is good but we can't play games on it. Classrooms and labs are old and not maintained properly. Most of the equipment is not working, and we have to manage in groups. The university has one central library which contains more than 2 lakh books and many more things. It is huge and the only place I love on campus.
Faculty: Many teachers are from the Northeast, either from West Bengal or Assam. Teachers are helpful except for a few. Almost All of them are PhD holders from this university itself. The course curriculum is relevant, and it is now according to the new education policy of 2020. It does not make students industry-ready in my point of view. Semester exams are not very difficult, and it is from teacher class notes only.

Our college fees are very low, and our college faculty members are good.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA and the average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Infosys, Wipro, Amazon, etc., visit our campus. Many students go abroad. Approximately 40% of students are placed in higher studies at this college.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good. There are three-seater rooms with small passages available. Mess, canteen, medical, and sports facilities are available with good facilities. There are many sports clubs available for students. There is SAI (Sports Authority of India).
Faculty: The semester exams are not too difficult but there is a requirement of 75% attendance to sit for the semester papers. Our faculty members are excellent. They are helpful. They choose many class representatives in each class, and they are excellent.
Other: Our college is excellent. Many scholarships are available.

There were poor placements for departments other than IT.
Placements: Only about 8 out of 60 students from our class were placed that too in off-campus recruitments. The recruiters were only from the IT sector. The students who got placed from the ECE department were recruited by the IT firms. There was no on-campus recruitment.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in the department were adequate. The hostel was good. The only problem was the distance between the girls' hostel and the department. There was the provision of bus at specific times. The hostel was clean and the maintenance was good.
Faculty: The teachers were good at this university. Everyone was qualified enough and some were very helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum was relevant but not enough to make students industry-ready. The semester exams were very easy but the pass percentage without backlogs was below average.

It has the appropriate faculty, the best infrastructure and good placements.
Placements: Our seniors are in the Hyperloop project team. Some well-known technical companies such as TCS, CTS, Tech Mahindra, and many more visit our campus for placements. The lowest salary package offered was around 3 LPA. The average salary package offered was 5 LPA. A large number of students get internships starting from industrial to institutional internships that too in prestigious IITs. One can also go for an institutional internship on the campus. There is a placement cell, and the placement head is our dean, Prof. Goutam Saha.
Infrastructure: It's the 5th Indian university which has Wi-Fi enabled campus. Classrooms are equipped with modern facilities. The library has almost 3.5 lacs books and many more in the form of soft copy. Labs are self-sufficient. If one needs a more sophisticated instrument, we even have SAIF on our campus. Since our campus is spread over 1225 acres, we got plenty of space to play sports and games. We even organise inter-college and inter-university competitions. In the year 2018, NEHU ranked 3rd in the inter-university soccer competition. There are plenty of canteens on our campus and also restaurants. Hostel rooms are quite good. Food served in the hostel is average.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are highly qualified from esteem institutions. They are helpful and kind enough to clear our doubts. Both projector and board are used for teaching. Sessions are interactive. Doubt clearing sessions are also conducted. The current faculty to student ratio is 1:60 as per AICTE. National workshops are conducted quite often. The course curriculum is up to the mark of the GATE exam.
Other: It is a central university, and the campus is spread over 1225 acres.

Satisfied with the college. Overall, the quality of the college is average.
Placements: According to my knowledge, placements of the college are average. Companies that visited our campus in the past were Wipro, Dell, HDFC Bank, Airtel, Indian Army, Zaloni, etc. The percentage of students getting placed every year is about 30%-35%. Internship opportunities are good. The average salary package offered by the companies is about 4 LPA. Our university organises summer internship programs in collaboration with other colleges and institutions. Mostly IT companies visit the campus. Students are placed through on and off campus placements. There's a placement cell in college which tackles all these matters. But placements of every batch depend upon the quality of the batch. So it mostly depends on the students to get good placements.
Infrastructure: Area of the university is 1225 acres. There is a central library providing all kinds of books to students. Labs are well-maintained having all the required equipment. Classrooms are well-developed, and the environment is calm and pleasant providing the best opportunities to study. There are playgrounds, auditoriums, and community halls, etc. There are total 23 hostels. Each hostel has the capacity to accommodate about 110 students. Rooms are quite good, and the bathroom facilities are well-maintained. Hostel food is quite good.
Faculty: There are 2 courses offered by the School of Technology, B.Tech and B.Arch. B.Tech is a 4 years course, and B.Arch is a 5 years course. There are 4 branches in B. Tech which are ECE, IT, BME and energy engineering. The professors are highly qualified and experienced. They have all the knowledge required. They help us in all the ways possible.
Other: We have a freshers' programme called Crysalis, and also have varsity week and other programs. There are forums which organise various events for students who are interested in extracurricular activities like sports, music, dance and photography, etc.

It provides a good campus life but offers low placements.
Placements: Only about 30% of the students are getting placed every year in the college. The highest salary package offered is about 4 LPA. The placements are good and are mainly based on information technology and management streams. Companies like Wipro, HDFC, Airtel, TCS, and Dell etc., visit our university for placements. There is a placement cell over here which ties up with other universities for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The campus is as huge as 1225 acres. We have a central library and a health centre at the college. The classrooms are well-equipped with advanced technical gadgets, and there are technical labs for every department. We have 23 hostels here, and each hostel can accommodate 115 students. The hostel rooms are tidy and spacious.
Faculty: The teaching quality of the teachers is average. The teachers are highly experienced and highly qualified. They are very helpful, and we can approach them whenever we want to. The new syllabus is quite precise as compared to the old one. The student to faculty ratio is 5:1.

NEHU - A view from the inside.
Placements: Minimalistic placements. Not a lot of companies came over. Even the ones that did weren't as good. Approximately 20 students from a batch of 240 students got placed. Internships aren't compulsory so there are no companies that come over for them. Students aren't interested in internships either.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the area is quite nice. It had all the required facilities like library, gym, medical centres, etc. The Wi-Fi is not good, though students may use LAN if required. The labs aren't as well-equipped as they should be. The classrooms are nice and comfortable.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. Most teachers knew their content and were able to impart their knowledge well. Some failed at generating interest in the students. Only classroom teaching method was employed that were sometimes accompanied with ppts.
