NEHU admissions generally begin in May every year. Admission to most of the courses at the university is entrance exam/merit-based. Candidates, however, for all courses are required to meet minimum eligibility criteria to get shortlisted for any and every course offered by NEHU. NEHU Shillong offers BTech in various specialisations for 4 years. Admission to the respective course is offered on the basis of Class 12 aggregate and valid scores in JEE Main. The University conducts an annual intake of 90 students. For a successful admission, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria by meeting the cutoff. Therefore, candidates must analyse the JEE Main cutoff trend of previous years.  

NEHU Shillong offer four-year BTech courses, divided into eight semesters, and offered in full-time mode. The eligibility criteria is that the candidates must complete their Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 75%. There are BTech lateral entry courses in some of the specialsiations as well. The entrance exam accepted by the university to get admission into BTech courses is they must have secured valid scores in JEE Mains. 

NEHU Shillong provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The university offers programmes in streams like Science, Commerce, Engineering, Arts, and others. The programmes are BTech, BArch, MA, MSc, MCom, and others. 

Admissions to NEHU Shillong is offered on the basis of merit and valid scores of accepted entrance exams. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12 for admission to UG level courses. Whereas, for PG level courses, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, CAT/MAT/AIMA and other national-level examinations suitable for the chosen course.

North-Eastern Hill University Meghalaya (NEHU) is ranked 106th by QS Ranking under the Asian University Rankings - Southern Asia category and 401-450 by QS Ranking 2024 under the Asian University Rankings. North Eastern Hill University was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament. The university ranking is quite good. Hence, it is worth taking admission in this university in 2025. 

Not all course admissions at NEHU University Shillong are based on CUET. BTech admissions are based on JEE Main. For various courses like BCA, BA, BSc, and others, CUET is accepted by the NEHU University Shillong. CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is an all-India level entrance examination which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The competition is high so prepare well in advance to clear the CUET exams with good scores.
