Gitam Admission Test 2026 ( GAT )
GAT exam for BBA and MBA admission is conducted multiple times in a year. Interested candidates must thoroughly understand the GAT exam pattern 2026 before starting their exam preparation. Gitam Institute of Technology prescribes GAT 2026 exam pattern and includes questions in multiple-choice format. It has remained unchanged for the last few years. The GAT 2026 question paper for BBA will be divided into four sections namely, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning & Intelligence, and General Knowledge. GAT question paper for MBA will comprise four sections, namely English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning & Intelligence and Data Interpretation. The GAT 2026 schedule will be announced in December 2025. Candidates can check the phase-wise GAT 2026 exam dates.
The full form for GITAM GAT is GITAM Admission Test. It is an management entrance test conducted by Gandhian Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) for admission to MBA/PGDM programe of GITAM School of Business. Candidates seeking admision to Post graduate programe of GITAM must appear for the exam. Candidates having valid score in national level management entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, etc. will be exemted from taking the GITAM GAT exam. Candidates will be required to fill the application form to be eligible for appearing in group discussion and personal interview rounds. GITAM GAT is conducted in multiple sessions in a year. Candidates can chose the date of examination as per their convenience.
GAT 2026 exam will be held in multiple sessions. Candidates who will register for the exam will be able to appear for the GAT exam. The examination for GITAM (Deemed to be University) UG and PG admissions will be held in computer based mode. Candidates will have to report to the allotted exam centre. GAT exam is codncuted for a duration of 60 minutes. As per the GAT exam pattern, the question paper consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. Candidates had to choose a correct answer among the four options provided. There will be a negative marking for wrong answers of 1/3 marks. Candidates wothout GAT admit card will not be permitted to enter the GAT exam centre.

No, all the questions in the GAT question paper will be objective-type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. GAT question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answers. Candidates will have to attempt the 200 questions in 60 minutes. There will be no sectional time limit to attempt the GAT exam sections. GAT 2026 exam will be held multiple times in a year in computer-based mode across 27 cities in India.
As per the GAT exam pattern there is no sectional time limit. GAT BBA question paper will consist of four sections, namely:
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning and Intelligence
- General Knowledge
Candidates will be required to attempt all four sections within the given time duration. GAT exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes or one hour. GAT sections will consist of 100 questions in total. Candidates must device strategy to attempt maximum questions within the given time duration.
As per the GITAM Management Admission Test (GAT) marking scheme, for every correct answer candidate will get one mark. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. For every wrong answer 1/3 of the mark will be deducted. There will be no negative marking for not attempted questions. As per the GAT 2026 exam pattern, the question paper will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), of one mark each. There will be no sectional time limit. Candidates can start answering from any section they are comfortable with. The GAT BBA exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes.

GAT MBA Marking Scheme:
- Total marks for MBA paper will be 100 marks
- One mark will be awarded for a correct answer
- NO will be deducted for the wrong answer
Important note:
- Candidates can choose the order of section while taking the exam
- Level of difficulty of questions is usually easy to moderate
- The exam duration for MBA entrance is 90 minutes, whereas the exam duration for BBA is 60 minutes
