GAT 2026 Selection Criteria

The GAT 2026 selection process consists of an entrance exam, a personal interview, and counselling. Candidates are selected for admission at GITAM University, in selected courses, by following the GAT selection criteria as mentioned here.

Candidates are shortlisted for the personal interview round based on their scores in the admission test. Participants with low admission test scores or poor applications are rejected.
The shortlisted candidates are then screened in a Personal Interview and other qualitative parameters.

Note: Candidates having a valid score in any of the examination scores- MAT, GMAT, CAT, XAT, ATMA, CMAT, or NMAT for MBA admissions are exempted from taking GAT.

Q: When will the GAT result be announced?

GAT results 2026 will be announced soon after the exam for each phase is conducted. Candidates who will appear for the exam will be able to download their scorecard online when released. The GAT scorecard 2026 is released at gitam.edu. GAT exam 2026 will be held in mutiple phases. On release of the GAT 2026 results, candidates will be able to check the following details on the scorecard:

Qualified candidates will be able to appear for the GAT counselling process when conducted. Candidates will not be issued the physical copy of the GAT 2026 results. Candidates must ensure to download the scorecard online.

Q: Do I have to submit a separate GAT application form, if I wish to apply for more than programme?

No, candidates will not be required to fill separate GAT application form to apply for different courses. With a single GAT application form candidates can apply for UG or PG courses they wish to apply for. Candidats can apply for Architecture, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Management, Nursing, Paramedical, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Sciences courses offered at GITAM Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses.

GAT exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The examination dates are annunced for each phase. GAT is a university level entrance examination conducted for admission to UG and PG management programmes of GITAM Deemed to be University. Candidates willing to appear for GAT exam must stay updated with the phase wise exam dates and last date to apply for exam. It is expected that GAT 2026 registrations will commence in second week of December 2025 at gitam.edu.

GITAM University will announce GAT result 2026 for each phase after the exam is administered. Candidates who will take the exam on D-day will be able to download scorecard upon its release.
