Q:   When will be the GAT exam conducted?
A: 

GAT 2026 exam will be held in multiple sessions. Candidates who will register for the exam will be able to appear for the GAT exam. The examination for GITAM (Deemed to be University) UG and PG admissions will be held in computer based mode. Candidates will have to report to the allotted exam centre. GAT exam is codncuted for a duration of 60 minutes. As per the GAT exam pattern, the question paper consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. Candidates had to choose a correct answer among the four options provided. There will be a negative marking for wrong answers of 1/3 marks. Candidates wothout GAT admit card will not be permitted to enter the GAT exam centre.

No, there is no negative marking in GAT exam. If a candidate selects wrong option for a question, he/she will be given 0 marks.

Q:   What is GAT eligibility criteria?
A: 

Candidates preparing for GAT exam must make sure to follow eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified.

For BBA

  • Candidate must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination for BBA admissions.
  • The examination should be recognised by the eductaion board.
  • Student must have successfully passed this examination GAT or UGAT to be eligible to apply.

For MBA

  • Student must have a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 50% marks in total. 
  • Candidate must have completed the UG course in minimum three years duration.
  • Students in the final year of graduation are eligible to apply for the programme
Q:   What is GAT marking scheme?
A: 

As per the GITAM Management Admission Test (GAT) marking scheme, for every correct answer candidate will get one mark. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. For every wrong answer 1/3 of the mark will be deducted. There will be no negative marking for not attempted questions. As per the GAT 2026 exam pattern, the question paper will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), of one mark each. There will be no sectional time limit. Candidates can start answering from any section they are comfortable with. The GAT BBA exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes.

Q:   When will the GAT registration begin?
A: 

GITAM Admission Test 2026 registrations has commenced at gat.gitam.edu. Candidates interested in admission to BBA or MBA programme of GITAM Deemed to be University, must fill online application form on or before the last date. The GAT application form can be filled in online mode only.

Q:   Can I crack GAT exam in first attempt?
A: 

Yes, it is possible to crack GAT exam in first attempt with proper study plan and strong determination. Candidates must understand the syllabus and exam pattern, and make a time table accordingly. Additionally, it is important for the candidate to follow the plan thoroughly to attain good score.

Q:   Will the GAT question paper have descriptive type questions?
A: 

No, all the questions in the GAT question paper will be objective-type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. GAT question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answers. Candidates will have to attempt the 200 questions in 60 minutes. There will be no sectional time limit to attempt the GAT exam sections. GAT 2026 exam will be held multiple times in a year in computer-based mode across 27 cities in India.

Q:   What is the GAT exam duration for each section?

As per GAT exam pattern there is no sectional time limit. GAT BBA question paper will include four sections:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning and Intelligence
  • General Knowledge

Candidates must attempt all four sections within the given time duration. GAT exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes or one hour. GAT sections will have100 questions in total. Candidates must attempt maximum questions within the given time duration.
