Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducts the Class 12 board exams for Science and other streams in the state of Bihar. Every student needs to put in their best efforts while preparing for BSEB Class 12 Biology exam. Biology is an important subject for students of Science stream preparing for BSEB HSC Board exams. According to the BSEB 12th time table 2020, the Biology examination was conducted on February 5.

BSEB 12th Exam Pattern and Scheme of Examination for Biology

According to the BSEB 12th exam pattern, the duration of BSEB Class 12 Biology is three hours and fifteen minutes. The first 15 minutes are given for reading the question paper. The total marks allocated for the examination are 100 of which 70 marks for theory paper and 30 marks for the practical assessment.

BSEB 12th Biology Exam Preparation Tips

Biology is an extensive subject in the Class 12 board examination. The right preparation tips can help students to prepare the subject effectively. So, let us glance at some important tips that will help in achieving high scores in BSEB Class 12 Biology exam: 

  1. Make an achievable study plan: Make a practical study plan. In this plan, allot time to cover all the topics, revision, and also include break-time in the schedule. Also, adhere to the plan to score well.
  2. Refer quality books: Discuss with teachers or search online for reference books that will help in preparing well for the BSEB Class 12 Biology exam.  
  3. Complete the Biology syllabus in three rounds: Divide the complete Biology preparation into three rounds. The first round is of general reading wherein the student will finish the entire syllabus by simply focussing on reading all the topics. This will give a basic idea of all the topics. The second round involves making detailed notes and the final round comprises a thorough learning and revision sessions for all the topics.
  4. Learn and prepare the easy topics first: An effective strategy to prepare for BSEB Class 12 Biology exam is to cover the easy topics first. After that, take up the difficult ones. Completing the easier topics will boost the confidence level and make the preparation process easier.
  5. Understand the concepts: Simply mugging up the topics will not help while preparing for board exams. Understanding each concept will help in securing high marks in Biology. Hence, first, understand the topic and then learn. In case you are unable to understand a certain topic or concept, mark it and move ahead. Next day, discuss the marked topic with peers or teachers.
  6. Prepare notes: Making notes is indispensable for BSEB Class 12 Biology exam preparation. Study and prepare notes for each topic in an easy and understandable language. The objective of making notes is to understand all the key-points of a specific topic in a short time. Thus, avoid taking notes from other students and rather make notes on your own. 
  7. Note down the important biological terms: Biology consists of specific biological nomenclature that the student needs to write and memorise. Make a separate notebook for such terms. 
  8. Keep revising: Make sure to revise the topics regularly. The regular revision also helps in remembering concepts for a longer period. Hence, before taking up a new topic, revise the earlier topics studied. 
  9. Practise diagrams: Diagrams are an easy way to score good marks. Practice diagrams regularly. Make sure to label them neatly. The regular practise of drawing good diagrams helps in drawing them easily during the exam. Remember to draw diagrams for most of the answers in Biology exam wherever possible. Diagrams create a good impression and help in securing good marks.
  10. Practice last year question papers: Solve as many papers as possible. Solving BSEB 12th previous years’ examination papers helps in understanding the pattern of questions and improves time management.

Yes, at least a day before the final result, the board announces an exact Bihar Board 12th class result 2026 date and time. As soon as it gets revealed, we will update the same on this page. However, every year, the board releases the BSEB Inter result 2026 in the fourth week of March.
