B.Tech. in Electronics and Computer Engineering - Batch of 2025
2.2
Amrita : Real vs Reality .
Placements: So the batch in which I'm enrolled is Electronics and Computer Engineering (EAC). This course was introduced in 2019 and therefore we are the second batch. The first batch of pass outs was placed with almost 60% placements. Only a small number of students have gotten internships from our batch till now.
Infrastructure: In my opinion, the infrastructure at our college is not bad; we have led projectors, a well-driven classroom that accommodates almost 90 students and talking about the hostel, the hostel is very hygienic. The infrastructure is not bad but the overall condition is pathetic.
Faculty: The faculty is pretty good and kind to us. They are helpful, but you have to literally beg them for assistance; otherwise, they won't mind you. Exams are kind of tough and way more difficult than what they actually teach us in class. The course is not bad, in my opinion, except for some unnecessary subjects .
Other: My batch is the 2021–2025 batch of EAC. I chose this course thinking that I would get the benefits of both electronics and computer engineering, but it has been disappointing so far.

Good placements, good clubs. I believe we get much more exposure than other colleges.
Placements: Around 80% students get placed. The highest offered package was around 50 LPA last year. The lowest offer goes around 4-5 LPA. Rest of the students mainly go for higher studies. Average placement is around 9-10 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Cognizant, Amazon and Cisco are common recruiters.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is as good as the rating, average. Wi-Fi has a firewall on it and also a limit of 10mbps but that is enough for doing most of the things. Sports facilities are okay. Canteen is also good but only a few selective ones. The classrooms are also very spacious.
Faculty: Faculty is helpful and we can also approach them anytime. Exams are also based on the curriculum they teach with some results we have to find on our own. Course curriculum is also updated regularly and has the subjects which are related to the industry.
Other: There's a national-level fest named Vidyut. And it's also very lively here with many celebrations going on always.

A quick review of Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri.
Placements: Approximately 90% of students are placed in our college. The highest income offered is 56 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 9 LPA. Many kids wish to pursue higher education. The typical wage package is offered based on the pupils. I would prefer to go for off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is exclusively limited to social websites. Only instructional websites and YouTube can be accessed. In the summer, classrooms benefit from having enough fans. The labs are good. Mess food is the same at every college; it's not good. There are restaurants available outside the hostel, but the quality deteriorates day by day.
Faculty: Some teachers actively teach and clear their students' doubts, while others simply read through the slides. The course curriculum is irrelevant. It does not prepare students to work in the sector. It is simple to pass but challenging to obtain high grades.

Our college provides very good education.
Placements: Around 90% of students get placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 56 LPA, the lowest salary package is 4 LPA, and the average salary package is 9 LPA average. Many students want to go for higher studies. The average salary package is offered depending on the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is beautiful. Everything is good in our college but the food served in the mess is average. Labs are very good and have working equipment. Wi-Fi provided in our college is good but not good in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are the best and most helpful. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry. The pass percentage is 80-85%. Exams can be rated 10 out of 10. Exams are difficult, so only talented students score well. The course curriculum is updated according to the industry every 4 years.

Review of Amrita School of Engineering.
Placements: Around 85% of students get placed in our college. Google and Amazon are the top recruiting companies. Around 60% of students get internships at Infosys and Google. The highest salary package offered in our course is 60 LPA. The roles offered depend on the students. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are provided throughout the campus. Library, hostels, projectors in classrooms, and labs are provided in our college. Mess is above average. There is a separate hospital in the college and hostel. Our college has a ground for individual games and a gym facility.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very good and helps students to work in both the private and government sectors. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 95%. All the teachers in our college are Ph.D. holders.
Other: I chose this course because it is very good and I can learn about both electronics and computers. Improvements are not needed in our course. Our college organises all the events and a national-level fest named Vidyut.

Review of Amrita School of Engineering.
Placements: Placements provided in our college are average for all the branches. The salary package offered is 7 LPA. It provides a great opportunity for students and roles depend on students' skills. Students get trained by the CIR for soft skills in the 2nd year. Clubs help students to get placed in top companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is strictly restricted to social websites only educational websites and YouTube can be opened. Classrooms are good with enough fans in summer. Labs are good. Mess food is the same as in every college.
Faculty: Some teachers actively teach and clear the doubts of the students but some of them just read the slides. The course curriculum is not relevant. It doesn't make students industry ready. It is easy to pass but difficult to score good grades.

Good facilities and placements in Amrita.
Placements: About 90% of fourth-year students got placed, with the highest package being above INR 40 LPA and the least being INR 2 LPA. Cisco and TCS are the top recruiting companies that visit the campus. And more than 50% of the students get an internship midway. We get placed both in the electronics and computer fields as software engineers, designers, or analysts.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are top-notch, and the faculty members are well qualified as well. The Wi-Fi is kind of slow on campus and even worse at the hostel, but the classrooms are okay. The library is well stocked, with even digital libraries. Hostel facilities such as rooms and urinals are alright, but the food is quite poor, so we often end up eating out. We do have a small emergency clinic near campus for health facilities. If you start participating in sports and games in your first year, you could be very well established in that field (if you're good, of course) by the end of the year, since we have way too many opportunities here.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and Ph.D. holders; they also help with research papers if we are interested in the early years. The course curriculum is tough and relevant too. We get coaching to make ourselves ready to face interviews for recruitment. Semester exams, since they are not based on any one text, are quite hard, and the passing rate is around 40% (40/100).
Other: Girls and boys during events are treated like they should not even be near each other. It's the one unfair thing there.

Our college provides great placements.
Placements: I have not passed out yet, but my ECE seniors have been well-placed. Around 90% have already been placed before the end of their fourth year. The highest salary package offered was around 45 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA. For our course, top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, and Cisco. More than 50% of students acquire internships before their final year for the same companies mentioned above. Top roles offered are system control engineer, software developer, and engineer. There are many job opportunities in data analytics field.
Infrastructure: We have good Wi-Fi connections at college but it is hard to get the same at hostels. Often we end up taking hours to download our class materials. Lab facilities are very good. Most of them are well-managed and maintained. Classrooms are neat too. The thing is most branches do not have a class of their own, so we have to move around for each of our classes. We have both traditional and digital libraries, and enough faculty is there to help. We have a bunch of buildings for hostels, based on which year we are in. The newly built one is the best in terms of facilities, but every one of them is above average. We have an ambulance in the college itself in case of any emergencies and for smaller issues, we have a small clinic in front of the college.
Faculty: Teachers are really knowledgeable. Most of them are Ph.D. scholars. Our course curriculum is highly refined and job-oriented. We have special CIR sessions to make us job-ready. Exams are usually a bit difficult since our curriculum also differs from other universities. We have a relative grading, so the pass percentage varies, but it is usually around 40%.
Other: ECE is very rich in job opportunities as it focuses equally on both electronics and computers. The best thing about this college is that we get to be exposed to the market very early in the course. It would have been better if we had proper hardcopy materials, but we could get them from the library for short reference. Events are especially huge here but gender equality is below the bar. We have separate eating spaces for boys and girls. Girls are expected to get back to the hostels by 5:30 p.m. Our classes are conducted till 5:00 p.m. Amrita College values extracurricular activities a lot and we get bonus academic points for sports, dance, and seva work.
