Commonly asked questions
On Fees and Eligibility
Q:   Can I get admission in CIET for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th?
A:

Your performance on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) exam is the main criteria for admission to CIET's B.Tech programmes. The qualifying criteria are your Class 12th scores; a minimum score of 60% is required. The TNEA exam results you take have a lot more weight in the admissions process. Even with a 60% in class 12, a strong TNEA score can greatly increase your chances of getting into CIET.

Within CIET, there is a significant variation in the cut-off scores for various branches and classifications (open, SC, ST, etc.). Less well-liked fields may have lower cut-offs, whereas popular fields like computer Science frequently have higher cut-offs. Furthermore, the cutoffs for reserved category seats are lower than those for open category seats.

Q:   Can I get into CIET with 70% in class 12th?
A:

Typically, a 12th standard qualification with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) is required to be eligible for courses like computer science, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering at CIET. But as of right now, the precise admission cutoff percentage is not disclosed. The amount of applications and the candidates' overall performance are only two examples of the many variables that might cause the cutoff percentages to change from year to year.

Consequently, even if you might be eligible for consideration with a 70% class 12 score, your final admission status will rely on the particular cutoff for the year you're applying. The most precise and current information on entrance requirements and cutoff percentages can be found by often visiting the official CIET website.

It is the best private option in Punjab.
Placements: B.E CSE Chitkara University 90% placements are placed, which is very good. The highest package is 44 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA. Recruiters are from TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Amazon, JP Morgan, and Microsoft. 70% students got internships. Roles offered are Software Development Engineer, Web Developer, and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: College has modern classes with smart boards, high-speed Wi-Fi, well-equipped CS labs and a digital library. Hostels are clean with good security, decent rooms and Wi-Fi. Mess food is average, or you can say less than average. Medical aid is also average, but in the sports area, it is very good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well-qualified, and they also have a deep knowledge of their subject. The course curriculum is very relevant, and it also prepares the student to face the industry ready. If a person studies well, and along with the syllabus, it is not difficult to pass the semester exam. 40% is the pass percentage criterion.
Other: Fests are great here.

It is the best place to explore our potential, and it provides many opportunities.
Placements: About 80 to 90% of students get placed. The highest package offered is 50 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 6-7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, Myntra, Nutanix's, RabbitMQ, and Salesforce. Right now, about 60 percent of students get internships. Top roles offered are backed developer, web development engineer, Python and Java intern, and business analyst.
Infrastructure: Karya provides the best facilities and infrastructure. Every lab, classroom, and library contains Wi-Fi. Hostels are so clean and well-maintained. Sometimes, the food quality is bad. Many times, they provide us with tasty food. Sports area is also beautiful.
Faculty: Teachers are so helpful. Some teachers are qualified from different IITs and NITs. They are knowledgeable. Their teaching is awesome. The course curriculum is relevant because teachers teach real-time things that are happening in the market. Semester exams are of a decent level. The pass percentage is approximately 30 to 35%.

Average college, but too expensive. You can find better colleges charging less with same facilities.
Placements: I am still pursuing the course. The highest package may be 50 LPA, depending on skills. The lowest is 3 LPA and the average is I guess 5 LPA-6 LPA. Recruiting companies are Deloitte, Infosys, STGI, and Cisco. Not so many students can pursue off-campus or on-campus internships. Roles offered are data analyst, HR, debugger, and coder.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have a centralized AC. Infrastructure is good. Mess quality is average not so good. Classrooms are better than other colleges but the fees are too high. Sports games are good and co-curricular activities are conducted. It's not so nice but good. NCC is good and NSS is also there. There are many clubs.
Faculty: Teachers have knowledge but students need to study on their own. The course curriculum is relevant. Exams are difficult and the pass percentage is more than 50 percent for coding subjects which is high. Teachers don't make you study that much what comes in exams is just what you're paying to get a degree in an overcrowded college.
Other: I had no option except this course. Many things need to improve. Events are good and there are many extracurricular activities conducted.

The college is very good for this fees price.
Placements: So the placements in Chitkara are pretty decent compared to other private universities here, as 85-90% students got placed with a decent package. So the highest package here is 1.11cr, and the average package is 7 LPA to 8 LPA. The top recruiting companies here are like Amazon, Samsung, and all.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good. There are students from a lot of states, and they all like that the college hostel is also well-maintained. There is a 24/7 Wi-Fi facility in all the classrooms, and the library is fully air-conditioned. The quality of the mess food is not so good, not so bad.
Faculty: In Chitkara, teachers are good, friendly, and well-qualified. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students learn new technology. The semester exams are a little bit difficult. The pass percentage for the non-coding subject is 40%, and for the coding subject it is 50%.

80% of the fun of your college life is gone: rude faculty, small, and extremely overcrowded campus.
Placements: They provide many average placements for the fees we are paying. We will have to work for years to even compensate for the fee. The placements are average. The fees is so high that it does not meet the standards at all. There are just so many students in the college that it's almost impossible to land a good job.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is alright, but the college is very small and very overcrowded, so you cannot enjoy it at all. During break hours, you won't even find a seat to sit and eat your food; the college is just that crowded. Instead of making more campus space, the university keeps making new hostels for more admissions.
Faculty: The worst possible dean changes exam criteria at the last minute, totally not recommended. You will prepare for an exam, and the dean will change the criteria at the last minute or even after the exams, so students fail. We can get out-of-syllabus questions, and the dean never listens.
Other: College is alright for campus activities like clubs; the rest of everything is very bad.

Good environment for students.
Placements: Most of the students get placed in the 3rd year itself, and almost 99% placements are made by the end of the 4th year. At least that's what we have seen in our senior batches. I have heard recently that OG, LG, Neilson, JustPay and all have been recruiting. The highest package that I have heard of in my college life was about 40 LPA, and the lowest is 3-4 LPA. I have heard my seniors go to tech and non-tech companies. A wide range of companies come to our college, including all types like gaming, marketing, software engineering, full-stack related, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is just okay-ish, sometimes its speed is too good and sometimes too slow. Classrooms are centrally AC, so that helps a lot in the summer. I don't live in a hostel. The library is good, with a wide range of books. Good area for sports (pickleball, basketball, etc. )
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. I don't think the courses are much of industry-ready ones, but for basics, they are good. They are difficult for students who take them lightly and don't study, but for students who are up to date, they pass (80-85% pass ).
Other: Our college did great events like the FUFU, and DJs and all. They provide buses for every event, which gives security to the parents. Overall, it's a nice college with a uniform. It feels a bit like school, but it provides us with a safe environment. I have heard of scholarships, but I don't know the details. There are various clubs that are on a good level related to sports, dance and other skills.

Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at CIET with 75 percentile in TNEA?
A:

With 75 percentile, you can get some normal courses at CIET. High cut-offs are frequently found in popular fields like computer Science and electronics and communication compared to less popular ones. Lower cut-off scores apply to categories such as SC, ST, and OBC since seats are reserved for them. The total applicant pool and their respective test results may have an impact on the cut-off scores. A factor that also matters is the quantity of seats that CIET has available in your selected branch.

Visit CIET directly to see the cut-off scores for TNEA candidates in your desired branch. Visit the TNEA and CIET websites to obtain this information. Your chances are favourable if your score is higher than or almost as high as the previous year's cutoff for the branch you want.
