Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology (BE/ BTech) in a relevant discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate is the basic eligibility for an ME and M.Tech offered at CIT Coimbatore. However, the final selection of candidates is based on TANCET followed by counselling.

CIT Coimbatore offers a full-time MTech course. The duration of the course is two years divided into four semesters. Available across five specialisations, CIT Coimbatore MTech admission is subject to a valid score obtained by the students in the CEETA PG exam conducted by DOTE Chennai. Selection shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM (BC Muslim), MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST following the rules of reservation laid down by the Government of Tamil Nadu. 

ME at CIT Coimbatore is offered across various specialisations, namely Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering while M.Tech is offered in Nano Science and Technology.

CIT Coimbatore offers ME in nine specialisations, namely Computer Science & Engineering, Heat Power Engineering, Applied Electronics, Communication Engineering, Environmental Engineering & Management, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Construction Management, Computer Methods & Application in Structural Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Technology. The institute also offers a full-time M.Tech in Nano Science and Technology.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, or equivalent with a minimum of 45% aggregate. In addition to this, students need to appear for TNEA counselling or the Single Window Admissions System. Single Window Admissions System is used in Anna University for TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission). It is popularly known as Anna University Counselling and is part of the process via which students completing Class 12 apply and secure admission to Engineering colleges within Tamil Nadu. The important strategy is that the counselling is conducted based on rank list, if a student is present for counselling then without allocating a college and course for that student, next rank cannot be allocated with a seat.

2. Login: Candidates who register successfully are issued login details that include a username and password.
3. Fill out the online application form: Candidates have to complete the online application form which has seven parts. One part of them is the application fee payment.
4. Preview and submit the online form: Candidates can preview the form carefully once before final submission.
5. Download the online form: The online form can be downloaded after the final submission. Candidates must keep the downloaded copy with them. It is not meant to be sent to the authorities.
