B.Sc. in Non-Medical - Batch of 2020

Review of D.A.V. College.
Placements: Around 30% of students were placed. The highest salary package is 10 LPA and the lowest salary package is 1.5 LPA. Companies that visit are not good. Around 30% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi available is 1 Gbpd, labs are quite average, classrooms are average, and the library is big but books are not new. Everything is good like food, sports, games, medical facilities, and a canteen with many food items. Rooms are good.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. The course is not good for a government job. Exams are quite tough. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose this course as I wanted to opt M.Sc. Maths. The syllabus is quite big. Everything is good.

The best thing about college is that it is good and lush green.
Placements: Almost 30% of the students got placed in our course. As I am from non- medical course, I guess we are not offered placements by any companies. I have not heard about the placement in my course. I don't know about the percentage of student who got an internship for our course.
Infrastructure: The library is good, and we get every book related to our course. The quality of the food served in the canteen is good. The medical facility is also good. I don't know about the hostel facility as I don't live in the hostel. I am not involved in any sports activity, so I also don't know about the sport and games facilities.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, qualified and possess knowledge about their subjects. They also guide us about our future. Different teachers have different style of teaching. All the teachers make us understand the basic concept. The course curriculum is not relevant, and it doesn't make students industry-ready.
Other: I choose this course because I am interested in this course. We should get more practical knowledge rather than theoretical. The campus crowd is huge. Many events are organised by college and students like freshers, talent hunt etc.

Good quality of teaching, quite ordinary infrastructure, no so advanced for exploring research orga.
Placements: I am a student at B.Sc. nonmedical. Like there is getting lots of rush towards engineering courses, so like obviously the number of students is decreasing in my course. There are about 90 or like about 8-9%of non-medical students in my stream and the reason is might there isn't that much internship that there should be for B.Sc. ones. What you have to do is to make more self-efforts and the jobs are offered much for this stream and the jobs offered are of likely to be of teaching only. In fact is it an academic course Generally no companies came here to hier us. Obviously there are jobs for the professional courses and not for our ones. Infact tgere aren't much activities that could help us achieve our goal to make our profile for research organisations.
Infrastructure: Yes, some facilities are available in our college campus. As an open Wi-Fi system is available for the college students. And as per as labs are concerned the labs are quite ordinary containing the only material that is required for the syllabus. But there is an extraordinary department in our college that can guide and motivate you to do something different as there is a special kind of lab in physics where there is different instruments present apart from the syllabus of our university and a special kind of library of physics is made too where u can read the books of high levels and of research levels too. The ordinary library is good as well. As we talk about the infrastructure the college is more than 100 years old and the infrastructure is quite ordinary and isn't well maintained. The quality of food in the fine but the taste of the food can't be considered as good one and a lot of strictness too is there. So students even prefers to join a pain guest home. Medical facilities are fine in the college. Doctor is always available there. No charges are taken for the medical of any student. I don't know much about sports here but yes there is ncc and nss and students who have joined are supposed to be in the practice every sunday and on some other special days too.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers of this colleges especially of Science departments needs to be praised for their way of teaching and tier qualifications too. The best teachers here, are from physics department as most of them are not only having the Ph.D. degree but also a lot of knowledge for students too. Chemistry teachers are also good and very few teachers of math are n't that good in teaching but the main thing that you need to know is if you want to do something different and unique then you have to make efforts by yourself. Otherwise there isn't any job for B.Sc. expect of teaching. So explore as much as you can. Well as our sciences are getting really advanced but this didn't get that to make the students industry ready but at the end it depends upon individual.
Other: Getting the more and more knowledge of Science and maths is my passion. I did tried in many colleges for B.Sc. maths but as I didn't GOT somewhere so it was just like the last option for me. But the thing I am getting my interested developed in physics too. So I think this combination of maths and physics would help me in future. The thing that should be improved is of more practical knowledge and the knowledge of the syllabus of university. Degree isn't everything. If we talk about the crowd like there are most of the students from Himachal and other cities. The do have the desires of becoming something but some of them just came to get a degree. There used to be many events like youth fest and others. Campus surroundings are not so much well. Yes, scholarships are provided to students who get good grades.

Our college is very old, but it provides us with knowledge and also encourages and motivate us.
Placements: 75% was the highest percentage of students got placed in our course. I think the average salary offered is Rs. 50,000 per month. The salary offered should be enough to make our living because fifty thousand is an average salary, which should be offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The college provides good infrastructure. There are separate labs for physics and chemistry subject, where we can perform our practical and practice. They also provide us with Wi-Fi, and I think it is good for students. They also provide us with a library for enhancing our knowledge.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. They also qualified and have a surplus amount of knowledge. They also help students in any problems and gives a solution to that problem and motivate us. This course is a bit difficult, but if we study hard, then it will help us in any field. Moreover, it also makes students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course as I like physics and chemistry, and these subjects give us knowledge about our daily living and tell us about our planet. Moreover, it also encourages us to study more and also make our curiosity towards it. Our college also conducts some seminar, events, and some extracurricular activities. There are many book shops and all stationery shops near our college.

It is a very good college. I am very happy to join this college for higher education.
Placements: Students got placed according to their percentage in academics their course like in our course B.Sc non-M.Ed, the eligibility criteria are very high, so it is very difficult to get placed in a good company where we get high salary packages. At least we are capable of getting about Rs. 40,000 per month salary.
Infrastructure: Our college is very old as it is 100 years old. The college from now is famous for its study pattern and the discipline in the campus. The atmosphere of the campus is very good.
Faculty: In our college teachers, are very helpful, highly educated, friendly and caring, and they taught us the real meaning of life. But in other colleges teachers don't bother about students whether they are attending classes or not. But in our college, they take responsibility for every single student.

Overall, a good college to pursue higher studies.
Placements: Many companies visit the campus for placements. But there are few opportunities for students because most of the companies are offering low salary packages. Almost four-five students got placements opportunities, and the future of students was not secured here. Only a few students were selected.
Infrastructure: Although the university is very old, the infrastructure is very good. The canteen and library are also very good. There is also a garden. The campus offers a very good and cosy environment. It is very well-maintained by our staff members. Classrooms are not that good as the benches are very old. They need to improve classroom infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good. They are well qualified and hardworking. They listen to students and solve their academic problems. They help in choosing the stream. Their teaching methods are very easy for students to adapt. I didn't get the industry exposure.

Our college is worth the money and college life. It taught me a lot.
Placements: Generally, there are no placements after B.Sc non-medical. Moreover, our seniors pursue masters in their own respective fields, so I am also pursuing the same. There is a placement cell, but I never visited there in my 3 years of graduation. Faculty members are good, and whenever you need them, then they always available for you.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good, and there are lush green lawns. Our chemistry lab has one of the expensive lab equipment in all Punjab colleges. There is an individual department for every field. The college also promotes sports, singing and dancing. The canteen provides good food items.
Faculty: Professors are really good at our college, and even the principal is also good. Whenever you need them, then they sort out your problems in any way. They are rich in knowledge. Students really get a good exposure towards industry in the field of their interest. Wi-Fi facility is also available.
Other: A lot of fests like science fest and computer science fest are organised here. There is a tuck shop.
