Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, Chennai is not too much costly .The campus and infrastructure is well built. The courses fees is around INR 4 Lacs to INR 13 lakh including the mess and hostel. If you get scholarship the tuition fees will be less and you can there easily with INR 3 lakh to INR 10 lakh. The primary eligibility requirements for admissions to BSc courses at HIMT Chennai are that candidates must complete their Class 12 from the PCM stream with at least an aggregate of 60% and 50% in English at the Class 10 & 12 levels. Additionally, for the admission process, the college accepts valid IMU CET scores. There are different eligibility requirements too, that candidates must follow before getting admission, such as candidates' age should be: General: 27 years, OBC (NCL): 30 years, SC/ST: 32 years (from the commencement of the academic session).

• Candidates must be medically fit, including eyesight and hearing, as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical examination) rules, 2000, and need to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by a D.G. Shipping Approved Doctor.

Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT Chennai) is a private institute,  located in Kilpauk, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has four campuses in Kilpauk,  Tidel Park,  Kalpakkam, and Vizag. Established in 1998,  HIMT is the only Institute in India to offer the maximum courses (90+) approved by the DG of Shipping. The institute is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. HIMT Chennai is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) and the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India) with a sanctioned intake of 60 students for each course.

Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, Chennai offers BTech and BSc programmes at the UG level. HIMT Chennai admission to the UG courses is determined by candidates' ranks in IMUCET, while for other programs, HIMT administers an entrance examination. Successful candidates in the respective exams proceed to an interview and medical examination for final selection. To get admitted to HIMT, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the institute. The application process at Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training is conducted online.

 IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) entrance exam scores are accepted by HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) for admission. It is a national-level common entrance test for admission to various courses offered at IMU campuses conducted by Indian Maritime University. The candidates who clear the entrance exam are called for their psychometric test, medical examination followed by panel interview and pre-sea training. Only after clearing all these stages, the candidate is eligible to take admission in HIMT college.
