IIEST is not a bad choice to pursue M.Sc.
Placements: Placements at IIEST are pretty impressive, especially for B. Tech. But as my department is a research-oriented field, placements are less. However, companies like Aakash, etc., hire students for the teaching role, and Zifo also visited to offer the role of a trainee. Internships and training are also provided, which helps you to get job-ready.
Infrastructure: Hostels are great here. The hostel which I got was the best, and it is named Lt. William. It has an elevator, Wi-Fi facilities and washing machines on every floor. Hostel rooms are huge enough to accommodate 3 students. The food served here includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Medical facilities are available for every student for free of cost. Sports culture at IIEST is very competitive. There are all sorts of sports teams, equipment and grounds, and coaches related to them are available to every scholar. Labs are good, and there is almost every equipment. Classrooms are spacious, and the number of students is low in our department, but it has its own perks. The library is the best I have ever seen, and it is named after the renowned mathematician named Ramanujan.
Faculty: Teachers here are really helpful, very much qualified and skilled. The interaction between students and teachers, especially in M.Sc courses is very good. This course helps to gain in-depth knowledge about food science and encourages you to choose it as your research field.
Other: The best part of IIEST is its great alumni network. It the oldest institute of India, and it organises one of the greatest fests in Kolkata of Howrah region, i.e., Rebecca. But unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to attend it due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is worth to attend. Cultural fests like Pongal, Kali puja, Diwali, Holi and Saraswati Puja were best and most joyful events of my college life.

The college provides an excellent and productive environment.
Placements: All students of 2019 batch got their placements off-campus. The lowest salary that was offered was Rs. 15,000 per month and the highest salary offered was around Rs. 22,000 per month. Top roles offered in the course are food analysts, food microbiologists, food safety officers, quality control managers, etc. Around 60% of the students got enrolled in various internships.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with good infrastructure, and various tools and methods are used for teaching. The labs are just fine with all the needed laboratory apparatus which can be used for carrying out research work. The classrooms and library are provided with high-speed Wi-Fi. The Hostels are awesome, and the mess food is just fantastic. The Hostels are also provided with a high-speed Wi-Fi which gives a seamless experience while browsing through the course content.
Faculty: The department consists of highly qualified professors who knows the best way to impart knowledge among students. Professors recruited in the department have a very good background and sound knowledge of their respective subjects. The teaching methods that they use are brilliant, and they give their best in making the course interesting. The course curriculum is designed in such a smart way that it is for sure, going to make the students ready for the corporate world and industry.
Other: Being a student in the field of life sciences and having a biology background, I wanted to stay connected with my field, and along with that, I wanted to give myself some exposure to the industry and corporate world. The course is designed in such a way that its syllabus covers a majority portion of the GATE Life Sciences and CSIR NET syllabus, so I have an advantage to that.
