IIIT Guwahati BTech seats are filled by the Joint Seat Allocation Seat (JoSAA) after qualifying the JEE Main exam. The counselling body doesn't have any registrtaion fee, the filling-in of choices on the online portal is free of cost. However, candidates might have pay the seat acceptance fee . The documents uploaded by the candidate will not be verified unless the candidate pays the seat acceptance fee. MHRD Fellowships is a financial assistance for PhD students for a maximum period of five years. PhD students will get INR 37000 as monthly stipend for the first two years at JRF level and then for the next 3 years, they will receive INR 42000 per month at SRF level.
Under the Visvesvaraya PhD scheme for Electronics and IT, students will get a fellowship of INR 38,750 per month during first and second year. After that, they will get INR 43,750 per month till 5th year of PhD. They will also get research contingency grant or INR 1.20 lac per year, as per DIC MeitY, Govt. of India guidelines. The Students’ Gymkhana at IIIT Guwahati is managed by a Students' Gymkhana Council to promote various co-curricular activities. This Council fosters and promotes technical, cultural, sports and welfare activities in the Institute. The Students' Gymkhana Council comprises four boards: Technical Board, Cultural Board, Sports Board, and Welfare Board.

It is not possible to pursue PhD in Mathematics from IIIT Guwahati with 50% marks because minimum percentage requirement is 60%. Even if you are a reserved category candidate, you get a relaxation of 5%. For improving your chances of admission, try to score 60% or more in post-graduation.
