Life at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Placements: The placement statistics of IIIT Una are as follows. The highest package is 30 LPA, and average is 11 LPA. Branch-wise placements are CSE-12.38 LPA, ECE-10.79 LPA, and IT-9.9 LPA. Top recruiters include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, etc. Many students are also hired as interns in companies for the role of SDE.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, is good compared to other IIITs constructed at the same time. There are 4 hostels, 2 basketball courts, 3 badminton courts, 1 lawn tennis court, and 1 football court. All years have hostel accommodation, and the permanent campus spans across 100 acres. However, the upcoming batch faces an accommodation issue, as only 100 to 150 students will be allotted hostels within the campus on a first-come, first-served basis.
Faculty: Faculty of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, are well-qualified and passionate about their work. The course curriculum of the college is up to date. Compared to NITs, the relative grading system is preferred, and there is also a 75% attendance criterion. All teachers are very helpful.
Other: I am from the Information Technology branch, currently in the 3rd semester. My batch strength is 75. I have opted for this course because I have an interest in programming. The campus area and the location of the college are not good. The senior-junior interaction is not good, and the coding culture is also not as good as I have heard on social media.

Growing Institute with good infrastructure and decent placement opportunities.
Placements: I am a final-year student of the 2025 batch from electronics and communication. The placement scenario has been fairly strong increasing demand for electronics. Approximately 70%-73% of students from our batch have been placed while drives still going on. It would be better in the near future.
Infrastructure: Our college is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure to support academic and research activities. The classrooms are well-ventilated, equipped with projects, and fully AC-oriented. High-speed data is provided through Wi-Fi but sometimes power cuts lead to poor quality.
Faculty: The faculty of my branch are generally well-qualified holding Ph.D. and M.Tech degree in their domain. They are knowledgeable and approachable and have good relations with students. But I would say our college more focuses on theoretical knowledge than practical.
Other: I chose this college because of the wide range of opportunities not only in electronics but also in computer science. We have a balanced curriculum that has facilities hands-on in labs and programming design. But there is still a need for improvement. The campus is vibrant and has multiple cultural and technical activities organized by clubs.

A decent college to join - With IIIT #tag.
Placements: The placements when I joined the college are good as per the 4th year batch but the current batch of 4th year is not doing well on placements. Although the placement percentage is good but the average and median packages have dropped from last year. Probably due to low potential students in a certain batch. The off-campus placements are good though, and many seniors are getting internships from 2nd year instead. So, it is a well-to-do college in terms of placements as compared to tier-II and tier-III colleges.
Infrastructure: Although due to lesser number of branches and lower number of students, the student intake is less and the crowd is also less. So, it affects the overall campus size. The campus size is small and compact but they provide almost all facilities. It lacks the following, no proper auditorium (only an indoor big size lecture hall is treated as an auditorium), and the area is not so developed. It is located outside the city. But we can reach the city easily.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and very supportive. The exams are to the point and reflect what is taught by faculty members. The students are not overburdened by a lot of homework. Also, we get a lot of spare time to focus on our skills. Overall, it is a good experience.
Other: College is still in the growing stage in terms of infrastructure, alumni, and opportunities. It helps you to grow as well and assures a good future. Fests are also kind of decent, and they promote students overall development for sure. Although many events face low participation but anyways we are improving.

The overall experience in this college will be really good.
Placements: The placement states of this college are good. 87% of the students were placed in the CSE batch of 2024-2025. The highest package is 30 LPA, and the average package of the CSE course is 12.38 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Microsoft, Grow, Google, Byju's, Jio, etc. Due to the recession, the placement states are low but are better than other colleges.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are really good. The infrastructure is new, and the condition of the rooms is better than the holder colleges. Classrooms are small and good for focusing on the quality content taught during the lectures. Wi-Fi, labs, and library are good. The quality of food in the mess is satisfactory. The medical facilities, sports, and games are very good than the other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The nature of the teachers to the students is very good. If someone understands the fundamental concepts of this course, then surely he will become industry-ready because the curriculum of this course is more updated than the other colleges. The pass percentage is based on the relative grading, so it is easy for the students to pass the exams.

Not a good choice to choose this college.
Placements: Placements are not very good. Management does not care about it at all no support from them. Few teachers are there who only shout nothing else if you wanna have placement need to go off campus. Internships are even worse. Will get nothing else from the disappointment.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is below average compared to other colleges. The rooms are well cleaned, but the NY mess does not have AC or a cooler, and there are no medical facilities. There is no pest control. There is no auditorium and no proper canteen, and there are insufficient hostels, forcing students to live outside. Overall, it’s not good.
Faculty: Faculty members are subpar. None of them looks like a professor, and they are not very friendly. Even if you try to talk to them, they just shut down and do nothing. In terms of extracurricular activities, we only have one festival per year; after that, the college is dead. Nothing else happens for the entire year.
Other: Only one average fest per year.

IIIT Una is worth it in 2025.
Placements: Actually, I have only heard that this year’s placements are good than last year. Many students have been placed in companies till now. The highest package is around 30–40 LPA, maybe. You can also try for internships from the 2nd year itself, and placements are only possible in the 4th year.
Infrastructure: As Una is a newly established college, our hostels are very nice compared to those of IITs or NITs. There is a library and a study room also, with Wi-Fi connectivity. The mess food has improved compared to the first day of college. There are many sports available, like table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis, basketball, football, almost all games except swimming.
Faculty: Teachers are really good, just like in other colleges, but the truth is that you still have to study from YouTube in the end. Yeah, I think the course plan is relevant. Semesters range from easy to moderate, and you can easily score an 8 CGPA if you study one week before the exams speaking from experience. To pass, you need to score 30 marks out of 100 in the end-semester exam.
Other: According to me, the college fests are average and can be improved. There are around 3–4 fests in a year, which is good in itself. You can definitely apply for scholarships. The timetable also includes sports and extracurricular activities.
