A decent college to join - With IIIT #tag.
Placements: The placements when I joined the college are good as per the 4th year batch but the current batch of 4th year is not doing well on placements. Although the placement percentage is good but the average and median packages have dropped from last year. Probably due to low potential students in a certain batch. The off-campus placements are good though, and many seniors are getting internships from 2nd year instead. So, it is a well-to-do college in terms of placements as compared to tier-II and tier-III colleges.
Infrastructure: Although due to lesser number of branches and lower number of students, the student intake is less and the crowd is also less. So, it affects the overall campus size. The campus size is small and compact but they provide almost all facilities. It lacks the following, no proper auditorium (only an indoor big size lecture hall is treated as an auditorium), and the area is not so developed. It is located outside the city. But we can reach the city easily.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and very supportive. The exams are to the point and reflect what is taught by faculty members. The students are not overburdened by a lot of homework. Also, we get a lot of spare time to focus on our skills. Overall, it is a good experience.
Other: College is still in the growing stage in terms of infrastructure, alumni, and opportunities. It helps you to grow as well and assures a good future. Fests are also kind of decent, and they promote students overall development for sure. Although many events face low participation but anyways we are improving.

Not a good choice to choose this college.
Placements: Placements are not very good. Management does not care about it at all no support from them. Few teachers are there who only shout nothing else if you wanna have placement need to go off campus. Internships are even worse. Will get nothing else from the disappointment.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is below average compared to other colleges. The rooms are well cleaned, but the NY mess does not have AC or a cooler, and there are no medical facilities. There is no pest control. There is no auditorium and no proper canteen, and there are insufficient hostels, forcing students to live outside. Overall, it’s not good.
Faculty: Faculty members are subpar. None of them looks like a professor, and they are not very friendly. Even if you try to talk to them, they just shut down and do nothing. In terms of extracurricular activities, we only have one festival per year; after that, the college is dead. Nothing else happens for the entire year.
Other: Only one average fest per year.

IIIT Una is worth it in 2025.
Placements: Actually, I have only heard that this year’s placements are good than last year. Many students have been placed in companies till now. The highest package is around 30–40 LPA, maybe. You can also try for internships from the 2nd year itself, and placements are only possible in the 4th year.
Infrastructure: As Una is a newly established college, our hostels are very nice compared to those of IITs or NITs. There is a library and a study room also, with Wi-Fi connectivity. The mess food has improved compared to the first day of college. There are many sports available, like table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis, basketball, football, almost all games except swimming.
Faculty: Teachers are really good, just like in other colleges, but the truth is that you still have to study from YouTube in the end. Yeah, I think the course plan is relevant. Semesters range from easy to moderate, and you can easily score an 8 CGPA if you study one week before the exams speaking from experience. To pass, you need to score 30 marks out of 100 in the end-semester exam.
Other: According to me, the college fests are average and can be improved. There are around 3–4 fests in a year, which is good in itself. You can definitely apply for scholarships. The timetable also includes sports and extracurricular activities.

Telling about the reality of college.
Placements: Firstly, the percentage of students to be placed changes year by year based on the students. Generally, 70 to 80% of students got placed. As per previous years' data, the average package was around 9 LPA to 11 LPA. The median salary is 9 LPA. The highest package from on-campus is 47 LPA by Amazon.
Infrastructure: Hostels are incredible as compared to other colleges, and provide Wi-Fi with good internet speed. Quality of mess food is okay. A canteen is also there on campus and for night Nescafe store is also available upto 3:00 AM. There is a well-structured playground for all sports.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and all are Ph.D. holders. Teaching quality of teachers is very good and very practical. In the course, subjects have their respective lab section, so these labs enhance the practicality of the subject. Final semester exams are difficult as compared to mid-terms.
Other: I chose this course because it will enhance my technical skills, coding skills, and overall development. There are multiple fests in college like sports fest (Yalgaar), technical fest (Meraki), and cultural fest (Mridang). College gives updates via mail if any scholarships are available for students.

Not absolutely dissatisfied because of its faculty members, average placements, and facilities.
Placements: During the recession year, the placement percentage was down but now it is going average. About 80-85% of students are placed. The average salary package offered is around 16 LPA. The highest salary package offered is about 20 LPA. Students get internships in companies like Coinswitch, Quizizz, etc. Roles basically depend on the skills of the students they carry.
Infrastructure: Classrooms, labs, library, and all are fully equipped with Wi-Fi. We have all the necessary equipments. Infact there is also a new lab that has been set up in coordination with IIT Ropar. Hostels are also well-equipped with Wi-Fi facility. Food has different varieties throughout the day. Food quality is average. Medical facilities are good, and have several sports grounds for various games.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified. Teaching quality is good. Teachers are quite helpful. The course curriculum is definitely relevant but some subjects are there which I don't find relevant at all like - UHV and Environment Science and Chemistry. Semester exams are not that difficult at all. Any average student can pass the exams without any difficulty. Pass percentage is above 90%.
Other: In reality, I have chosen this college because I don't have any options left. Definitely, the course would be better if there were some specific subjects regarding coding and some more experienced teachers. Events are good but not that good because of the low budget. Events only happen for 1 time in the year.

Satisfied with the college. If you get this college in JEE, you can for sure take it.
Placements: IIIT Una have decent placements. Most of the students get placed, around 50 percent on campus and 30 percent off-campus. The highest is in the range of 40 LPA mostly, and the lowest is in the range of 5-6 LPA. Many companies do come here, from Amazon to American Express. The companies do hire for SDE and dev roles mostly, but some also hire for business analyst roles. 30 percent of students only get internships on campus. Top roles are mostly SDE.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi provided in the college is good. The infra is one of the best in all the IIIT colleges currently. Library, study rooms, labs, all are there with AC and theater. The hostels are decent, have 3-sharing rooms, hot water for bathing, etc. All kinds of sports, except swimming, are available. Medical rooms are tiered. Two veg messes and one non-veg mess are there. Two canteens are there.
Faculty: The faculty is pretty much educated here; most of them have Ph.D. in their subjects. The teaching quality is good. Some teachers do give effort, some don't. The curriculum is one of the most advanced in India. It prepares you well for life outside the campus. The pass percentage is 95 percent, and the difficulty is moderate.
Other: There are a lot of clubs, from literary to photography to environmental to entrepreneurship. An annual fest named Mridang happens every year, and there is also a sports and tech fest. All government scholarships are available.

Satisfied with the infrastructure, sports facilities, and placements of 2023.
Placements: The overall placement of the year 2024 was 63.6%, which is not official and of 2023 it was around 87%. The amount for the highest package was 46.5 lacs per annum and the average package stood around 15 lacs per annum. The lowest was around 5 LPA. Top recruiters were Amazon, Flipkart, Google, TCS and all other FAANG companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of IIIT UNA is very good as compared to other IIITs established in the same years. It has its permanent campus, 4 hostels for all years, academic block, admin block, gym, music room, football ground, 2 basketball courts, 2 basketball courts, tennis court, and around 9 badminton courts, 2 in each hostel. All the hostels are well-equipped with Wi-Fi and speed is good; washing facilities are provided in the hostels, which charges no extra cost; a common room is also there for table tennis. The mess food of our hostel is good as compared to other colleges; it has a decent menu and has a mess committed for any concern. Academic block has a library, classes, and labs; all are well-equipped and up-to-date. All facilities are well qualified and are Ph.D. holders, and the foreign return curriculum you can know by visiting our college website.
Faculty: Our college follows a strict curriculum and a strict 75% attendance policy. All the faculty members are well qualified and are Ph.D. holders. Many are foreigners, but they will not give you as much importance as any other college. But staff and lab assistants are quite helpful and help us to demonstrate and perform experiments properly. Semester exams had a relatively simple marking scheme and are quite easy and mostly questions come from the PPT provided by the teachers.
Other: The main reason I choose IT over CSE is the comparatively easier curriculum than CSE; IT doesn't have hardware parts. The first year is comprised of Physics and Chemistry like in classes 11 and 12 and core subjects are not taught in 1st year; these subjects are boring and less fascinating. The coding culture of our college is not good. Before joining this college, I heard many positive reviews about the coding culture at IIIT Una, but ground reality was different. No hackathons are conducted, and everyone is interested in sports only. Our events comprise MRIDAND a cultural fest, YALGAR a sports fest, MERAKI, ROBO DRIVE, PROG-O-THON, etc.

Satisfied with the college infrastructure and facilities provided.
Placements: More than 80% of the students are placed annually from our college, with the highest package being 60L and the average being 14L. The top recruiting companies include Amazon, American Express, TCS, PW, Grow, Microsoft, Deloitte, etc. We are given one full semester of 6 months to do an internship so that we can gain industry experience.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very nice. All the buildings are well-maintained. The academic block has centralized AC, a well-equipped library for studying, and free high-speed Wi-Fi is provided on campus. Each hostel has 2 badminton courts and one indoor stadium where we can play chess, carrom, and table tennis. The mess food is okay. Each hostel has a medical kit.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful and highly qualified. More than 60% of the faculty are Ph.D. holders, and all are very knowledgeable. The curriculum is relevant to the courses and makes us industry-ready. The semester exams are a bit difficult, and most of the students pass them easily with good grades.
Other: There are many fests conducted in our college like Yalgaar - the sports fest, Meraki - the technical fest, and Mridang - the cultural fest. We see beautiful sunsets every day, especially around September.

Hi, There is no direct scholarship program run by the Indian institute of information technology. However, you can avail many scholarships later for engineering students run by central and state government. Hope you got your answer.
