IIM Indore MBA Highlights 2026
IIM Indore PGP is a two-year programme, which is spread across four semesters. The PGP in Management course of the institute is considered equivalent to an MBA. The institute also offers Executive PGPs for a duration of one year and an Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), which is spread across five years. IIM Indore MBA admission is based on the applicants' performance in CAT. The first step in the admission process is to register for CAT. The registration window is live for CAT 2026; interested candidates must visit the official website of CAT to apply online. Choose PGP admission at IIM Indore while registering for CAT 2026. 1. IIM Indore MBA Application Process 2027
To apply for MBA admission at IIM Indore, select the preferred institute. Find below the steps in the application process of CAT:
- Open iimcat.ac.in website
- Click on 'CAT 2026 New Register' tab under the 'New Candidate Registration' tab
- Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number and nationality

2. IIM Indore MBA Selection Rounds
Based on the applicant's merit in CAT, they are shortlisted for a WAT and a PI. The final admission for IIM Indore PGP is made considering the applicant's record, CAT score, WAT/PI score. If a candidate secures admission at IIM Indore for PGP, they report to the institute to confirm their admission. Eligibility criteria
All applicants must fulfil the eligibility requirements specified for PGP admission. A pass in any UG degree or completion of a professional degree (CA/ CS/ ICWA/ FIAI) with at least 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) is required to apply for the PGP course.
Shortlist for PI
Only those aspirants satisfying the eligibility requirements will be shortlisted for the PI round. A sufficient number of candidates for PI from each category will be shortlisted using the merit list generated based on the composite score. Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are not shortlisted for PI.
Final Selection
After completion of the above selection rounds, a category-wise merit list is generated based on the final composite score and provisional admission offers are made accordingly.
Having a good academic profile for IIM admission is very critical. The top 6 IIMs lay a lot of emphasis on Class 10 and Class 12 score for selection of candidates for WAT-PI round. The academic profile is evaluated again at the time of preparation of final merit list. It has been seen in the past that some candidates despite having 99+ percentile, were not selected for PI round due to low score in Class 12.
The academic profile is assessed for academic as well as gender diversity. Which means a candidate who studied Arts in Class 12 may be selected for PI with lower marks than a candidate who studied Science in Class 12.
Candidates aiming for IIMs must know that while the importance of academic profile is very important for top IIMs, it is moderately important for rest of the IIMs. For, other top MBA colleges, overall profile matters more than academic score. So, if you do not have superlative scores in Class 10 and 12, build a good profile with work experience and extra curricular activities to increase your chances of selection.
