One of the fastest growing 3rd gen IIT.
Placements: Average package of last placement session was 14-15 LPA. In which most of the students preferred non-core sector. More than 90% students, who registered for placement got placed with decent package, along with that 100% placement was observed in M.Tech CSE.
Infrastructure: Currently IIT Bhilai runs from its transit campus located at sejbahar raipur but very soon (probably by June 2023) it will permanently shift to its original location at Bhilai. There are 3 hostels in IIT Bhilai. Normally Wi-Fi speed is 50-100 Mbps at hostels and around campus.
Faculty: Faculty are good. Currently IIT Bhilai offers courses in 5 discipline which includes CSE, EE, DSAI, ME, Mechantronics in B.Tech. While there are more in post graduation like Electric Vehical Technology, Mathematics and Computing. IIT Bhilai follows fractal system in curriculum. Which provides a distributed load to students.

A new and prancingly budding Institute.
Placements: This year first batch is getting placed. But placement statistics is quite higher than it is expected from a new IIT. Among the recruiters are Amazon, L&T, UIDAI, OYO, RadiSys, GSTN, Atonarp, Xenia and more are yet to recruit. Placement records are quiet high for Computer Science and Electrical Candidates but very few Candidates from Mechanical have been placed in core companies. Talking about internships we have Training and Placement Cell which looks into this. If you are hard-working and knowledgeable enough you can get internships even in first year. Final official statistics about placements and internships is yet to be announced.
Infrastructure: The institute is currently running from its temporary Campus in Raipur which is about 30km away from the permanent Campus which is being constructed in Bhilai. In our temporary Campus, we have a health centre, chemistry lab, physics lab, computer centre, Electrical lab, FPGA lab, Mechanical workshop, DIY lab and Wi-Fi facilities in hostels and main building.
Faculty: All teachers are well qualified but not well experienced and need to learn how to teach. Each semester we have three exams instead of two. So the course is divided into three small parts which reduces the burden to some extent and is quite helpful.
Other: Meraz- annual cultural fest is organised every year. Prauatna is our intra Institute sports championship. There are government as well as Institute scholarships.

Not worth joining with your JEE Advanced rank. Placements are bad, but infrastructure is good.
Placements: Around 75 percent of students are placed from this course. Others either take up higher studies or take a gap year to prepare for competitive exams. Not all placements are on-campus; most are in non-core companies in non-core roles. The highest package is around 16–18 LPA (non-core), the lowest is around 6 LPA, and the average is 9 LPA. Companies include Mahindra, Jindal Power Ltd., ICICI Bank, and Executive Ship Management. Around 60% of students intern. Some internships are in software roles at startups, research at IITs, DRDO, PayU, and robotics startups.
Infrastructure: State-of-the-art research labs and equipment are available. The library functions 24/7. There is easy access to PCs and laboratories. Hostels are air-conditioned to help students beat the Chhattisgarh heat. Mess and canteen food quality is sometimes questionable, but mostly edible. Health centres are fully equipped, with ambulances and first aid kits available at every hostel. There are functional volleyball courts, table tennis rooms, badminton courts, basketball courts, and a cricket pitch with a football ground. But the sports facilities are still only as good as a society's recreation clubhouse.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable but lack compassion. Some of them are readily helpful even outside classrooms. The curriculum and grading are highly faculty-based. It can feel challenging at times because you might feel everyone is smarter, but reaching out to others helps. The curriculum is mostly well-planned to let students choose and curate their own basket of subjects. Some might feel it lacks preparation for competitive exams like GATE, which requires extra personal effort. Exams are not very hard but are often tightly paced.
Other: It is a new IIT, and the lack of experience is prominent. The fests are not as big as those in older IITs, and access to internships and companies still has a long way to go. Professors are comparatively less experienced. It is a good place if you are self-reliant, willing to learn, and work extremely hard, but not the best choice if you expect things to be easy or rely on the IIT reputation.

Infrastructure: Old IIT Bhilai cumpus Hostels: The campus has two hostels, Caste Ena and Caste Dio, with separate accommodation for girls and boys. The hostels are fully air-conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled, and have a dining hall, recreational area, indoor games area, and fitness center. Each student is provided with a B.Ed mattress, study table, chair, and almirah. Labs: The campus has labs for civil engineering, Chemistry computer, electrical, electronics, mechanical, and Physics. Library: The library is considered good for studying and has sufficient books. All are good quality.

A growing college with lots of developments in the future.
Placements: Campus Placements 2023-24: 50% placed on campus for mechanical engineering roles in consulting, IT, core (technical), finance, analytics, management, teaching, and research. Avg (overall) - 13.02 LPA. Companies - Mahindra, Tata Autocomp, TCS, HCL, Accenture, NVIDIA, Winjit, L&T, etc.
Infrastructure: We have a state-of-the-art campus with beautiful buildings, lakes, and greenery all around. The campus has centralized Wi-Fi with good speed. Hostels are good, with AC in each room. Currently, there are 3 hostels. Labs, classrooms, and the library are all well-equipped with the latest technologies. Mess food is good here. There is a common health center. Sports and games are in the development phase, as the campus is new. It will improve over time.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified. All are Masters in their fields and are busy with their research work. For the first year, the course is common for all. From the second year onwards, we are taught our core courses. Exams here are not very tough compared to JEE, but you will hardly get time to study because of the extracurricular activities. This makes it a difficult job for many students to manage academics. Saturdays and Sundays are off. Classes are from 8:30 to 12:30 (not always, we get breaks too if there isn't a lecture scheduled) and then labs are from 2:30 to 5:30. For the first year, it is two times a week.
