Review of IIT Dhanbad (ISM) - Indian Institute of Technology (ISM).

Placements: Usually, placements begin during starting of December. There are lots of companies that come for placements. Highly paid companies like Citibank, Barclays, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are on the list. They will be coming at the beginning to filter out the cream layer. There are companies like ICICI, Wipro, TCS, and Infosys, which come at the end to recruit students in bulk. There are core companies like Tejas Network, Sterlite, Tata Motors, etc visit our college to recruit the core students. The average package is between 8 LPA to 12 LPA, and the highest package offer is about 60 LPA.

Infrastructure: The course curriculum is very exhaustive, and students are always in the midst of things. Recently, our curriculum was reviewed, and my juniors have a completely new curriculum and courses. All the important and relevant courses are covered in this institute. The facilities in the hostel were good. We are provided with many activities there. There was a big TV room, table tennis, computer room, fine arts room, badminton court, and basketball court in each hostel. The mess food quality was good, and hygiene was well maintained by the college; that's the main thing I like about the hostel.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. Everyone has done a Ph.D. and is doing a lot of national and international projects in their respective fields. They are also well-experienced in their fields and give their best to bring the best out of the students. They have also written many research papers and published them in top-class journals. Most of the lecturers also have industry experience. Exams are being conducted with ease and dedication. Labs are well structured and well maintained by the end of the day, and one feels relaxed.

I am satisfied with its placements in M.Tech CSE.

Placements: Around 100% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 43.6 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 19 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Mathworks, ICICI, Dell, and IBM. The internships are offered in the first year to 4 students by IBM and Goldman Sachs. The top roles offered are SDE 1, SDE 2, and risk analyst.

Infrastructure: It provides a top-class hostel with a high-speed LAN port for every inmate plus the Wi-Fi is also enabled. High-speed internet on the campus is available. It provides laboratories and a canteen. The library has the best seating arrangement with centralised air-conditioner system. The quality of food is good, but the taste is average.

Faculty: It has qualified teachers but not as expected teaching skills atleast in online mode. The courses are relevant to industry standards and updated, students will pass the exam if they give at least 2 hours a day to self-study.

Other: The student activity center is there where every extracurricular activity is held like gym, table tennis, badminton, swimming, dance, etc.

Faculty and infrastructure are good, but there is a lack of placements for the RF branch.

Placements: For internships, Intel visited the college last year. Coaching institutions like Aakash, Rao IAS, etc., and companies like Qualcomm, Intel, etc., visited the college. If you are interested in higher studies, a lot of positions come for JRF since this branch gets a lot of government projects.

Infrastructure: For M.Tech students, the hostel rooms are very small. The food provided is okay. Medical facilities are available 24 hours on weekdays, and the timings are different on Sundays. I have not been much into sports, but I know that almost all sports facilities are available.

Faculty: The course curriculum is relevant since they teach from the very basic of microwave. It makes students industry-ready because you get to publish papers for which you will be doing research on recent topics and also the evolution of those topics.

Infrastructure: The library is one of the best for any student and is fully air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi enabled. Classrooms are also well maintained with projectors and digital tech. Labs are also good, and some of the machinery is not in working condition as they are very old, but overall labs are in good working condition. Canteen and medical facility is also good and provided on the campus near to hostels.

Faculty: All the teachers in our college are good, helpful, and qualified in their respective fields. Most of them are research paper holders and have very good knowledge. The teaching quality is good, and they take full classes and extra classes too to complete the syllabus if required. The course curriculum is well structured and very relevant.

Other: Events held in IIT Dhanbad are huge. Extracurricular activities are like swimming club, gymkhana, and many more clubs.

I am satisfied with our college.

Placements: About 40% of the students got placed in this session. Placements in our branch are not so good since our branch is outdated. An internship is given to almost all the students. Placements in all other branches are very good except for a few branches.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided to students are very good. Labs and classrooms are well maintained and the library of our college is the best place to study since it offers a very good atmosphere. The hostel and mess facilities are average and the medical and sports facilities are very good.

Faculty: A few faculty members in our college are good and highly qualified. They will help you throughout the session and also guide in a proper direction. The facilities offered are very good and every student gets the opportunity to learn and face companies.

IIT (ism) Dhanbad is very renounced institute in field of geology and mining. With old building.

Placements: 4 students placed out of 10, 40%placed. The highest package 5.75 lac CTC. The lowest CTC 3 lac and average is about 4.5 lac. Top recruiter Gammon Engineer and contracts LTD. Top roles offered in my batches As Engineering geologist. 100% students got internship in industry and research institute.

Infrastructure: All facilities are available in my classroom, as well as labs, library's etc. Quality of food is very good and hostel rooms are new and clean. For all kind of indoor and outdoor game facilities are available. Like basketball, table tennis, snooker etc.

Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified and experienced. Course is very relevant to work in hydro power industry, mining and construction industry. Teaching staff is very renouned person in their field that helps to student's to gain knowledge of field work and understand the working life.

Other: This course is relevant to industry application, so I choked this course that why I get job surely. All extra curricular activities are organizing in compus time to time.

Useless course in big brand.

Placements: No placements at all. Don't even think of it. Few companies like Infosys visited the campus. Some engineering colleges also visit the campus for the position of professors. If you are looking for placement in core companies then this is not the place for you.

Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi, spacious classrooms, excellent medical facilities and good campus for sports and games. Two big grounds for sports i.e. upper ground and lower ground. Hostel rooms are very tiny. Two people living in single accommodation room. No air conditioning facility.

Faculty: Some professors were knowledgeable and some were extremely waste of time. One particular community people dominate the total workforce of the university. No particular industry exposure. The only place where the students go for summer training is BCCL (CIL).

Review of IIT Dhanbad (Indian School of Mines) - Department of Environmental Engineering.

Placements: Placements for my branch are good compared to other branches. The average package offered was about 6 LPA. Almost 50% of the students got placed. Last year, the highest package offered was about 14 LPA. Two students got placed in Coal India Limited, and others got placed in Jindal Steel and Tata Steel.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good compared to other private institutions. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The library is air-conditioned and is open till 12 am. Labs are maintained as per the guidelines. Sports facilities are good, and a coach is also available for sports like cricket and hockey.

Faculty: Teachers are co-operative except a few who are very irritating. They are helpful and always stand with students in their favour. Sometimes, the project work becomes hectic, and it leads to many problems between students and teachers. Overall, the teachers help students to get good grades.

Other: The main fest of our college is called Srijan, held in March, every year. Extracurricular activities such as sports meet and techno fest are conducted at regular intervals.
