IIT Gandhinagar admission process is entirely based on the selection of candidates via popular entrance exams such as JEE Advanced and GATE, etc., for courses such as BTech and MTech, respectively. Further, IIT Gandhinagar conducts an institute-level test for the selection MA and PhD courses. Candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as per the course requirements and then qualify for the respective entrance exam in order to secure a seat at IIT Gandhinagar. Later on, the final seat allotment is done through counselling process.
Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. STEP 1: Apply for IIT Gandhinagar MA admission
To apply for admission into the programme candidates have to apply through the exam website. Candidates also need to pay an application fee (non-refundable) in online mode only. Candidates can have a look at the documents required through the list below:

- Scanned image of signature (JPEG format)
- Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format

STEP 2: Appear for Entrance Test and Interview
