Admission criteria to IIT Gandhinagar is both, merit and entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams. - BTech students must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) via the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in). The application fee for boys is INR 625 and INR 325 for girls.
- MTech students are required to register for GATE through the official website of GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) (appsgate.iitd.ac.in). The application fee for boys is INR 1,500 and INR 750 for girls.
- For MSc, candidates need to register for IIT JAM through the official website (iitr.ac.in). The application charges for others is INR 1,800 for other and INR 900 for female (all categories)/ SC/ ST/ PwD for one test paper.
- For MA and PhD, students are required to apply via the official website of IIT Gandhinagar.
Candidates need to pay an application fee (non-refundable) in the online mode only for MSc admission at IIT Gandhinagar. However, they are required to furnish a hard copy of the application form along with a photograph and all the necessary documents in original (testimonials, certificates, publications, work experience, and research/professional experience) at the interview time. Incomplete applications get rejected. Application fees for SC/ST/PwD candidates is INR 150 and for all the other category candidates, the same is INR 300. IIT Gandhinagar admission process is entirely based on the selection of candidates via popular entrance exams such as JEE Advanced and GATE, etc., for courses such as BTech and MTech, respectively. Further, IIT Gandhinagar conducts an institute-level test for the selection MA and PhD courses.
