IIT Gandhinagar MA Highlights & Eligibility 2025
MA at IIT Gandhinagar is offered as a regular full-time programme for two years. The programme offers only one specialisation in Society and Culture. The programme acquires students from any discipline with the key disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree can apply for the MA course.
Admission to the course is based on the entrance test conducted by the institute followed by an interview. The final selection will consider the academic records, aptitude for graduate studies, a written test, and an interview. The eligibility criteria for the MA programme is a minimum 55% aggregate in graduation.

IIT Gandhinagar JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 is out for the third round. The cutoff has been released for candidates seeking admission to BTech/Integerated BTech courses at the institute on the basis of JEE Advanced. Among the General All India category candidates, the closing ranks varied between 1872 and 10645. Therefore, it is possible to get admission to the college at 5000 rank in JEE Advanced. However, at 5000 rank, the choice of specialisations would be limited.
As per the information available on the official website of JoSAA 2025, the semester-wise IIT Gadhinagar hostel fee is INR 17,250 (this includes hostel seat rent, utilities, etc.). A mess and laundry advance fee of INR 21,000 is also required to be paid by the students admitting to a four-year full-time BTech course at IIT-G.

No, students cannot get direct admission in IIT Gandhinagar courses. The admission to IIT Gandhinagar courses is entrance-based. Accepted entrance exams are JEE Mains/ JEE Advanced/ IIT JAM/ GATE. However, writtern test + interview is also considered, depending on the course.
The modes of IIT Gandhinagar admissions are online and offline. Admission to various postgraduate and undergraduate courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. Accepted entrance exams are GATE, JEE Main, and JEE Advanced. Candidates must study GATE exam pattern, keep an eye on GATE exam date and GATE result. At the undergraduate level, the college offers four-year BTech courses to students in seven specialisations. At the postgraduate level, the college offers two-year MSc, MTech, M.A. And various other courses to students. Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) also provides Ph.D. and several online courses to students.
Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. In addition, to be eligible for the BTech programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate. Hence, while JEE Main is the most important starting point to get into IIT Gandhinagar for the flagship course, it is not the only criteria for it.

IIT Gandhinagar MA admission takes place through the merit secured in graduation. Candidate's last qualifying examination is considered for admission into the programme. Candidates can follow the step-by-step guide given below to apply for admission to the MA programme at the university:
STEP 1: Apply for IIT Gandhinagar MA admission
To apply for admission into the programme candidates have to apply through the exam website. Candidates also need to pay an application fee (non-refundable) in online mode only. Candidates can have a look at the documents required through the list below:

- Scanned image of signature (JPEG format)
- Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format

STEP 2: Appear for Entrance Test and Interview

IIT Gandhinagar CSE Cutoff 2025 was released for all rounds and categories under the All India quota.
For the General AI category, the cutoff in the first round was 1872, and in the last round, it was 2020.
