IIT Gandhinagar Ph.D. Courses & Fees

IIT Gandhinagar offers a Ph.D. course to students at the doctoral level in 13 specialisations. Apart from regular Ph.D. courses, the institute also provides Start Early Ph.D. courses to students. Offered in regular and continuing doctoral programmes (CDP) mode, admission to Ph.D. and Start Early Ph.D. courses is based on an interview round which is followed by a written test, if necessary. The seats are limited so the students must apply early.

Admissions to PhD at IIT Gandhinagar generally opens up toward the beginning and end of each academic year. The modes of IIT Gandhinagar admissions are online and offline. Admission to various postgraduate and undergraduate courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. Accepted entrance exams are GATE, JEE Main, and JEE Advanced. Candidates must study GATE exam pattern, keep an eye on GATE exam date and GATE result. At the undergraduate level, the college offers four-year BTech courses to students in seven specialisations. Yes, according to the IIT Gandhinagar JEE Advanced cutoff 2025, you can get admission with a rank of 10K.

If you belong to the General AI category, admission is available but only to the less preferred specialisations, like B.Tech. in Materials Engineering. This course had a cutoff of  10372 in the first round, which later increased to 11066 in the last round. IIT Gandhinagar is one of the prestigious institute which offers quality education to the students. The institute is ranked 18th by NIRF 2023 for Engineering. This prestigious college is also ranked 10th by India Today 2023 under the Engineering category and 9th by India Today 2023 under the Engineering (Government) category. Above 200 offers were accepted during IIT Gandhinagar placements 2024. As per official data, more than 80% of the offers were made by the Core sector.

IIT Gandhinagar offers good placements to its students. According to the latest available, BTech placement rate recorded for CL, EE and ME branch in 2025 was 73.33%, 72.97% and 79.49%. For BTech CSE branch, the placement rate was 86.05%.

IIT Gandhinagar cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to MSc specialisations. The closing ranks in the round 1 were between the range of 338 and 396. The cutoff was released for MSc in Chemistry, MSc in Mathematics and MSc in Physics. The round 1 closing ranks for the above specialisations were 358, 396 and 338.

IIT Gandhinagar JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 is out for the third round. The cutoff has been released for candidates seeking admission to BTech/Integerated BTech courses at the institute on the basis of JEE Advanced. Among the General All India category candidates, the closing ranks varied between 1872 and 10645. Therefore, it is possible to get admission to the college at 5000 rank in JEE Advanced. However, at 5000 rank, the choice of specialisations would be limited. 

IIT Gandhinagar cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to BTech specialisations on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The cutoff was released category-wise for All India quota students, for the third round. For the General AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks closed at a range of 1872 and 10645. Among the OBC AI category candidates, the ranks closed between 794 and 4654. For candidates belonging to SC AI category, the cutoff ranks closed between 428 and 2858.
