Students enrolled in the MSc programmes are not provided with any assistantship or scholarship from within the Institute. But, candidates enrolled in the MSc programmes can pursue external funding agencies providing assistantships or scholarships. Candidates seeking admission to an MSc course must ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements. Admission to the PG course is through IIT JAM. Therefore, it is possible for the candidate to get admission at the given ranks in a few specialisations. The General AI category student having the cutoff rank between 550-600 can get admission to M.Sc. + M.Tech. in Physics and Materials Engineering, with the last-round closing rank of 889. Since the Cutoff is released category-wise, the chances of getting admission would depend on the category as well.

The total tuition fee for a two-year MSc is INR 26,000 and INR 80,000 for the MSc-MTech course. This fee is calculated in accordance with the first-semester fee. Thus, the fee may vary. In addition, the admission fee and a refundable deposit of INR 11,800 are also payable at the time of admission. Admission to the PG-level course is through the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). Candidates shall apply for the IIT JAM exam and secure a valid score for admission.
