IIT Jodhpur MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2025

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur offers a two-year MSc course. The postgraduate-level course is offered in five specialisations, including Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Digital Humanities, and Computational Social Science. Admission is through the all-India level Joint Admission Test for Master's (JAM) conducted by IITs. The reservation policy is adapted as suggested by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. School of Liberal Arts, IITJ offers a two-year flagship MSc course in Computational Social Science (CSS).

IIT Jodhpur also offers an MSc-MTech integrated programme in full-time and part-time modes. It is a four-year dual degree integrated programme featuring a dual degree component. Review of IIT Jodhpur in the physics department.

Placements: In my batch, we are offered jobs like research associate, lab technician, quality control analyst, and microbiologist. Companies that came to hire are mostly research labs, pharmaceutical companies, and diagnostic centers. The average salary package offered is 2 LPA.

Infrastructure: Hostels provide basic facilities like Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Classrooms are air-conditioned, and the main library is set up well for borrowing books. The mess food is just okay, but luckily, there are three canteens that sell delicious fast food. It also has a small sports area for games like volleyball, football, and cricket.

Faculty: The college takes its exam rules seriously to ensure fairness. Teachers put in a lot of effort, even though sometimes admin issues can cause a bit of confusion. Still, the learning environment is positive because the college makes sure to balance classroom learning with hands-on practice. Staff members know their subjects well. They are very cooperative.

Placements: Ripik technology, Uber, TATA consultancy, Oracle, Adobe, Qualcomm, Wizards India LLP, Sony group corporation, the world wants, trilogy innovation, and many more companies visit our college to recruit students. You will get a stipend from 5000-200000 per month, depending on company to company and type of internship. In my course, students of the final semester are eligible for placement. Mostly, coaching institutes hire from an M.Sc. Physics with an average package of 10-12 LPA. Not a lot of students go for placements but mostly they opt for higher studies, and a good number of students get Ph.D. in foreign universities.

Infrastructure: The course curriculum was revised very frequently as per the demand and requirements of the students. But some courses were in high demand by the students, but were not provided because of the availability of faculty. Various hands-on courses were compulsory, which provided good experience and learning. The hostel life was awesome due to friends. Talking about the facilities, we had a Hostel Management Committee that took care of all our hostel problems, and the mess food was also appreciable for the cost that we were charged. We pay around 60,000.

Faculty: The faculty of student ratio was good. We had a lot of in-person interaction with the faculty members. Even the faculty was very helpful and friendly. Some people were exceptional, but overall, they were good. A lot of good faculty members were there, but also some people couldn't satisfy students with their teaching methods. There were two minor exams in between and one major exam. Marking was done considering all three of them. Which made scoring good marks easy.

Review of Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: The percentage of students who got placed from my course was greater than 65%. The packages offered to my course ranged from 17 LPA to 13 LPA. Students interned in many companies like Wipro and HDFC Bank. The top role was offered by Oracle company.

Infrastructure: All facilities were available for students, and the infrastructure of the college was also super. Wi-Fi, classrooms, and the library were all available in the college. The food made in the college canteen was so tasty. The medical facilities were available. Sports and games were also present in the college.

Faculty: Teachers in my course were so helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They had great teaching qualities. This course was not curriculum-relevant, but students were industry-ready. The semester exams in my course were very difficult, and the pass percentage was more than 60%.

Other: I chose this course to get the best knowledge. There was no wish to improve in my course. Events were super, and scholarships were provided to students.

Placements: Placement cell is the best and is maintained by faculty members of the college. Around 60% of students got higher placement in reputed companies and 20% of students got average placement. The highest package goes 60 LPA and the average is 7 LPA-8 LPA. Final-year students could apply for internships.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is big with many buildings, departments, grounds, cafeteria, etc. They have systematic and maintained environment for students. They provide all basic to advance facilities of ACs, Wi-Fi, labs, sports, medical, canteen, hostel, mess, courts, seminar hall, etc.

Faculty: Course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready because of practical question and personality development include in the course. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable enough to teach or guide students. Semester exams have moderate level and need 40% to pass.
