Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Overall, the placement percentage is around 70-80%. Placements are mostly dependent on the market conditions and demands. Teachers are assuming that by the end of 2030, the percentage may decrease by 5%. The average package offered ranges from 17-19 LPA. The highest package offered is 25 LPA. The major recruiters are Tata, ISRO, Google, Microsoft, Honda, L&T, Bajaj, etc. Roles like consulting, financing, etc., are offered here.
Infrastructure: The hostel has facilities like Wi-Fi, reading rooms, a recreation hall, etc. The old hostel is average, but the new one is top-notch. The educational buildings are very nice and well-spaced. Classrooms are suitable for all seasons. The canteen and mess food have improved quite a lot after the lockdown period.
Faculty: All my teachers have graduated from either IITs or from reputed institutions outside India. Many of them are active research paper workers. The course curriculum of all branches is highly recommended and relevant. Semester exams are a bit hard. If students have the basic and core knowledge of the subject, then they can perform well.

Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: The placement is, I think, one of the best placements in the history of IITs. The average package here overall is 18-25 LPA. The mechanical average package is above 15 LPA. The highest goes up to above 40 LPA. You can assume that 50% of students choose core placement, while the other 50% choose non-core roles, like the IT sector. The core roles offered are design manager, manufacturing engineer, etc. The non-core roles offered are software engineer, finance, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of my department are better than those of other private colleges that promise to offer good education but fail to do so. The Wi-Fi is available and has decent speed across the campus. The classrooms are now updated to smart classrooms in some departments. The hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls separately. The mess food of the boys' hostel is good. I don't know about the girls' hostel. The medical facilities are also available, but I have not experienced them yet.
Faculty: Teachers of my department are highly educated and experienced. The teaching quality of all my department teachers is top-notch. All of them try to make us understand a topic in the best possible way. The course curriculum is obviously very much relevant. The students become highly industry-ready with this curriculum. The semester exams, according to me, are neither so easy nor so difficult. It brings me joy whenever they occur, and I feel they try to bring out the best in me. The passing percentage is next to full.
Other: I chose this course at IIT because I have diverse options for my placement, and I love working with machines and learning new things about them.

Review of the IIT campus of Roorkee.
Placements: The placement of this IIT campus is extraordinary. The highest package for the mechanical branch is above 50 LPA. The average package is 15 to 18 LPA. The recruiting companies are Microsoft, Google and other top companies. The internship programme is available with a good stipend. The placement percentage is close to 100%.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of my department are very nice. Labs get updated every year and are very neat and clean. The Wi-Fi is also excellent. The library is very huge. Hostels of the IITs are a bit old but have very good service. The mess facilities are good compared to other institutes.
Faculty: Faculty members of my branch are extraordinarily skilful and highly talented. All of my faculty members are very much active in the research work of the students and their own. The course curriculum of the mechanical branch is very relevant. Exams are very exciting. The pass percentage is above 90% overall.
Other: This is a campus of IIT, so there will be competition, but the aura and reputation of the campus are unmatchable.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2028

Pros and cons to consider before taking admission in this college and choosing it.
Placements: Out of 120 students enrolled in my course, around 70 to 80 are placed at the end of the semester, the rest went for Master's, UPSC, or in other fields. The highest package of Chemical Engineering is around 55 LPA, the average is around 16-17 LPA, and the lowest is 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are HUL, BPCL Dr Reddy's, Microsoft, Adobe, Infoedge, Urban Company, etc. Around 30 to 40 students got on-campus internships in companies like Amazon, Infoedge, Microsoft, and PayPal. Top roles offered are SDE, graduate engineer trainee, Business analyst, product manager, etc.
Infrastructure: The department and all the lecture halls have AC installed and a projector for teaching. The Wi-Fi speed is also quite good. Hostel rooms are also decent, and the mess food is also good, it has a variety of food options to eat from. In the first year, you get shared rooms, but after 1st year, you get single rooms. The hostels have a good vibe with 2 canteens and multiple small playgrounds.
Faculty: All the teachers are mostly from an IIT or have completed their Doctorate from a reputed foreign university, with a good amount of experience. They are helpful too, exceptions are there too. The curriculum keeps changing as per the requirements of the industry. Exams are really tough as we move forward in the course, even getting an average 7 SG takes a lot of hard work.
Other: I was getting this course and college at my rank, and I thought it was the best option for me because I could study chemical engineering and study for SDE roles side by side. Also, I wasn't so sure which field I had to choose, so I chose this to explore my interests and make a good network.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2029

Amazing infrastructure and faculty, fully satisfied with my college.
Placements: 60-70% students are placed. The rest go for higher studies, entrepreneurship, GATE, UPSC, etc. There are opportunities to go in core, tech, or finance sectors as per your wish. Top companies from PSUs like GAIL and HPCL come for placement. Students are also placed in Microsoft, Accenture, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: All infrastructures are good and updated. Wi-Fi is present in each room. A big library with AC, 24 hours canteen in each hostel, and a hospital are present. Lecture halls and rooms are big and comfortable, with AC installed in each. Hostel rooms are of reasonable size.
Faculty: All professors are good and experts in their field. They teach well. After lectures, tutorial classes by a teaching assistant are held to solve discussion problems and doubts. Curriculum is up-to-date and makes one industry-ready as well as fit for higher studies.
Other: Amazing campus life. Fests keep on happening all year round, and ample opportunities are present to explore new things.

Integrated M.Tech. in Geological Technology - Batch of 2030
4.4
4Placements5Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Vibrant college life that you'll remember for a lifetime.
Placements: Out of 30, 15 got placed, 10 go for off-campus, 5 go for higher studies 30 LPA being the highest, the lowest goes to 10 LPA, and the average is 16 LPA. Companies like Schlumberger, British Petroleum, and mainly recruit for core jobs. Internships are very few, like fewer than 5 students get core internships, and for this also CG should be above 9. Geotechnical roles or office roles also are also offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout campus (except in bathrooms), and every department has well-equipped labs (note that lab supervisors may occasionally give you bad advice, so be cautious). Classrooms also have good infrastructure, including teaching boards and projectors. The library is accessible except at night (it is also open at night during exams). Additionally, there is a 24/7 reading room. New hostels are very luxurious, old ones are decent. The mess food is very good, as there are various options available. The canteen provides a 24/7 menu at a good rate. Medical facilities are provided well, MBBS doctors are available, and with insurance, free medicine and consultation. Every sport has enough sports grounds or courts, and fun games.
Faculty: Professors are knowledgeable but can't deliver well enough to be understood by everyone. You have to learn from the side to be industry-ready, and it's possible as the peer group is supportive. 1st semester is common for everyone, so your understanding of Physics and Maths would decide toughness, then onwards, core courses decide, like GT has an easy course (as I listen from seniors). Most of the students pass, with around 2-3 percent having a backlog.
Other: I like Earth Sciences and want to learn about rock and minerals, as I had studied in my 8th-grade geography. If online resources could be given in an organised way and with a good planner, then it would have been better. If you have good friends, all the fests and events become a memory for a lifetime. All staff and professors are supportive and kind. You get regular emails about various opportunities, and the channel has lots of information.

No, to get admission at IIT Roorkee for the MBA/PGDM course, students have to first attempt the CAT entrance examination and attain a valid percentile. Those students who clear the cutoff are then eligible to move to the second round of admission, which involves PI (Personal Interview).

No, it is not easy to get admission in IIT Roorkee. Students have to get high scores in accepted tests. The competition is also very high for all programmes, but especially for BTech. With IIT Roorkee being one of the top Engineering institutes of the country, the cutoff is high too. To get admissio
