Overall really good absolutely dissatisfied from mess and faculty.
Placements: This time IIT Roorkee is having one of its worst placement seasons. 100 students are placed in the current placement season from mechanical branch. The highest package offered is 51LPA the lowest package offered is 10LPA and the average package offered is 21LPA. The top recruiting companies are Amazon and Oracle. The positions offered are software development management and supply chain. 50 students got internships and mostly people got off campus. The PIC cell has failed to bring the much needed core companies like Jaguar and even negotiate proper offers or request more vacancies.
Infrastructure: The course structure is very good but it still needs improvement as most of the courses are either related to out of industry knowledge or are completely backward structured. More courses like data structures or a course providing interview knowledge regarding data structures questions being asked in the interview. Classrooms have highly functional Wi-Fi AC and heaters. The library is excellent. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is the worst with a rating of 1 out of 5 stars. The medical facilities sports and games are excellent as there are experienced doctors and coaches to help us in our endeavor.
Faculty: Teachers here are no doubt extremely knowledgeable and highly qualified but they are not that helpful. Most of them do not explain the doubts properly and they also expect that no one will copy the assignments and also submit on time. The course curriculum is slightly relevant it needs to improve vastly as it fails to make the students industry ready and thus many students have to prepare online to crack interviews and even company exams. The semester exams are really difficult and the grading is relevant. There is no pass percentage.
Other: II purely got this branch due to my JEE Advanced Rank. Electrical or electronics are always my first preference but even though the mechanical branch is really good and I will say it exposes you to the world of robotics advanced printing technology and also enabled me to build an underwater vehicle. I wish my course to have more subjects evolving around computer Science or data structure and algorithms as it becomes really difficult for people who are aiming for non core jobs. Fest events campus and connectivity are excellent.

Excellent but dissatisfied with faculty and course structure.
Placements: This time IIT Roorkee is having the worst placement season with only 47 companies coming for this placement/internship season. 100 students are placed from the mechanical branch. The highest package offered is 51 LPA the average package offered is 19 LPA and the lowest package offered is 6.6LPA. Top recruiting company is Amazon and it came for various posts. Top roles offered are management and software development. 40 people got on campus internships and others went for off campus internships. This is not a good result as the PIC is failing to bring more core companies and negotiate better offers.
Infrastructure: Our department has many facilities including smart classrooms and laboratories. Classrooms are good they have all the facilities but laboratories are still developing. There are some outdated methods that are still being used considering them to be basic experiments. Some of them are really outdated. There is a central library which is very good well maintained. Hostels are good they have many facilities including Wi-Fi gyms canteens and sports rooms. The main problem is the mess it offers really bad quality and taste of food.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced qualified knowledgeable and helpful. Some faculty members are really rude towards the students and some faculty members also do favoritism towards a particular community of students. They are trying to make it relevant they introduce some new courses like AI/ML and Data Science but they are still unable to deliver quality content about the course. The professor with little knowledge about the course is assigned to teach the course instead of assigning a good faculty. It does not make students industry ready. They are very hard and the grading system is relatively so we do not have a pass percentage.
Other: ]I got the course by JEE Advanced Rank although I will have gone for a higher branch if I am eligible. Mechanical branch is good if one is really interested in understanding the dynamics and the core functionality of the secondary sector of the country. Personally the best thing about the course is that I get to work with 3D printers and CNC machines. The course should cater more to be industry specific for contemporary times rather than teaching the old stuff that is no longer used in industries. Events fest campus crowd extracurricular activities are 1000 on 10.

Excellent infrastructure, but dissatisfied with placements and internships.
Placements: This year IIT Roorkee has the worst placement season with only 47 companies coming to the college. The placement cell is an absolute mess. They are not working properly, have little communication with branch DPRs, and limited interaction with company HRs for any further vacancies or offers that might be available if they negotiate. 45 students get internships from my course batch. The highest package is 10 lakhs for a 6 months internship, and the lowest is Rs. 25,000 for two months. Top recruiting and most internships go to Amazon. Top roles so far are management and software development.
Infrastructure: The course is a complete 4 out of 5. Classrooms are amazing with excellent seating, AC, and heaters in winters. The practical labs cater to job-ready skills that mechanical engineers require, such as CAD modeling and sessions on 3D printing. Hostels are 3.5 out of 5 because the management is good, but the rooms could be more modern. The Wi-Fi system and balconies score 5 out of 5. The canteen and mess food are good, both 3.5 out of 5. Medical facilities and sports are excellent, 5 out of 5.
Faculty: The curriculum is too vast, and some subjects are outdated, like manufacturing technology. The majority of the portion is related to old-style casting and holding methods, while newer methods like CNC machines and 3D printers are taught briefly, even though it is an advanced course. I would score faculty members 2 out of 5 because of some good professors. The professors are excellent at their craft, but they should listen to the students’ needs more. Exams are tough, but from a teacher’s point of view, they are excellent. The exact pass percentage varies from subject to subject, but on average, it is around 95%.
Other: I chose my course mainly because I get it according to my JEE Advanced rank and IIT Roorkee is among the top 7 colleges of India. I am also fascinated by the mountain life. Mechanical is a very good branch with average packages of placement going up to 25 LPA. More efforts are needed to update the syllabus so that students are more industry efficient. The campus, people, fests, surroundings, campus life, and extracurricular activities are 1000 out of 10. I do not have any scholarships but, my friend receives around Rs. 67,000 per sem. Connectivity is awesome too.

Sometimes, prioritize college over the desire.
Placements: In the core branches, placements are a bit low, no specific companies are visiting the college for branch oriented courses. Students get job opportunities in different domains, in which they get average package of 5 to 7LPA, and the highest goes to 10 to 15LPA. PSUs like ONGC, BARC, and IOL are recruiting. They hire for the manager role and the system engineer.
Infrastructure: Departmental infrastructure is average, not like the whole campus, with a limited lab for the core branches. Wi-Fi enabled departments and classrooms are, on average, not equipped with many facilities, like comfortable seating. Libraries are there, which are accessible all the time. Hostel facilities are just okay, it depends on which hostel you are living in. Canteen and mess food have average taste. Sports facilities are there where you can explore all games.
Faculty: Faculty members of my department are okay, they have proper knowledge and skills regarding their courses, which is very helpful for the students to clear. They teach from the very basic to the advanced level. The course is not helpful for getting industry ready. Semester exams are easy to moderate, with a level 90% of the students pass.
Other: Events and extracurricular activities of this college are best when you really enjoy them, the campus crowd provides a versatile behavior and mindset.

A short review of IIT Roorkee and its earth science department.
Placements: It has good placement and internship opportunities for higher branches. For core, you have to maintain 8+ CGPA atleast as it plays a major factor. The highest package for our branch is around 25 LPA, and the lowest is around 12 LPA. Top recruiters are ONGC, Schlumberger, etc.
Infrastructure: Department facilities are decent with well-equipped labs, and all the instruments work properly. Classrooms are also mostly tidy. Regarding the hostel, for me it's been 3 years now on the campus so I have experience living in 3 hostels. I think the best one is Jawahar by far in terms of mess, canteen, and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Teachers are pretty helpful and friendly in nature. They are pretty qualified and knowledgeable as well. Doubt-solving sessions are also conducted. The course curriculum is relevant but mostly depends on student's focus and interest whether he or she is industry-ready or not.
Other: Found this very unique course and wanted to explore more of it. I wish that we had more job opportunities in the core industry.

IIT Roorkee - The IIT of your dreams.
Placements: 85% is the placement percentage. 1.5 crores per annum is the highest package. Top recruiting companies are Jaguar, DE Shaw, Microsoft, Intuit, BCG, Google, Amazon, Mastercard, Sprinkle, Zepto, JP Morgan, BNY Mellon, and many more. Top roles offered are quant roles, SDE roles, etc.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi equipped. The library and other academic facilities are state-of-the-art. Some hostels are better than others and are good, others are okayish. Mess food is so bad, but breakfast is awesome and nutritional. Sports facilities and gym are top-notch.
Faculty: Course Curriculum is relevant for the most part, and it does make students industry-ready, though more practical knowledge is needed. Teachers are very knowledgeable, but some professors don't interact that much, which is the case in every college, still, overall, good professors. Semester exams are average to above average here. The pass grade for a course is 4.
Other: Electrical Engineering is a very versatile course in terms of placements, most technical and non-technical companies allow you to sit in their tests, and you can target core companies. Betterment is needed in the mess and hostels, but it's still not that bad. Fests are amazing here, and the campus life is just too much fun.
