The GATE 2026 registrations are ongoing for admission to ME/MTech courses, and the deadline for registration with late fee payment has been extended to Oct 13, 2025. The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Main 2026 registration process for the first session for IIT Ropar admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses is expected to start in Oct 2025.
- The IIT JAM 2026 registration has now begun for admission to the MSc course. The last date to register is tentatively Oct 12, 2025. Furthermore, the exam will be held on Feb 15, 2026.

MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG-level course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech at the institute is INR 34,000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37,200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission. Yes, IIT Ropar has eight hostels, six for boys (Satlej, Beas, Sindhu, Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune) and two for girls (Ravi, Venus) to house approximately 3000 students. IIT Ropar is a residential institute; therefore, all the students are required to reside in the hostels.
