Great college, should definitely consider it.

Placements: 80% happen to get placed. Top recruiting companies for electrical core are Nvidia and Texas. The highest salary is 65 LPA. The lowest salary is 7 LPA, and the average salary is 20 LPA. There are many companies like Nvidia and Texas for core electrical and some people go to non-core like Goldman Sachs. Some go into software development at Google, Flipkart, etc. Top role offered is software engineer.

Infrastructure: Everything is great up to date equipments. Hostels are great as the building was made in 2019 itself so its very new. Food quality is average. Sometimes food is bad so we just go to cafeteria to eat. There is no problem in Wi-Fi. Library is open 24X7. Medical facilities and games are good.

Faculty: It's more about the students who come there which makes the college great. Teachers are helpful. Teachers know what to teach students sometimes not directly related but you have to increase your way of thinking by taking difficult courses. Difficult is moderate as if you study for 3-4 days you get a decent CGPA of 8. Pass percentage is 30%.

Placements: About 75 percent of the students were placed. The highest package was about 65 LPA, the lowest was about 12 LPA, and the average package was about 22 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, and Nvidia. The percentage of students who got internships was about 70 percent, with companies like Accenture, Intel, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments.

Infrastructure: The classrooms here are good, with air conditioning and comfortable seating. The labs are well-equipped with modern equipment, and the institute has a strong ranking in research. There is Wi-Fi available in classrooms, labs, the library, and all hostels, except for the newly built ones. The library is spacious and has many amazing books to explore and read.

Faculty: The course prepares students to be industry-ready, and besides electrical engineering, they also teach electronics, which helps students enter the electronics industry. The teachers are helpful and qualified. The pass percentage is about 30-35 percent.

Other: Our campus hosts four major fests, including Zeitgeist, which is North India's biggest cultural fest. Extracurricular activities are also available, with several clubs such as tech clubs, literature clubs, and cultural clubs. Various events are held throughout the year, serving as a stress buster for students. Our college also offers many merit scholarships.

Our college provided good placements in 2022.

Placements: Almost 85% of students got placed with an average salary package of 18 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 50 LPA. The average salary package offered is 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, L&T, Adobe, Microsoft, Flipkart, and Oracle.

Infrastructure: There is a separate block for electrical engineering. We have all equipment in the lab. All labs and classrooms have 24X7 Wi-Fi. The library has 24X7 Wi-Fi. It has only a few seats. The course books are very few. The hostel rooms are very good. Many washrooms are not in good condition. The quality of the food in the mess and canteen is very good. We have 24X7 medical facilities. We do not have an indoor badminton court. We have a cricket ground and a football ground. The campus is small.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They always motivate us to study. They have very good knowledge of the course. They try to teach all things in-depth. We can understand every concept. The course curriculum is relevant but does not make students industry-ready. Students have to study on their own. Semester exams are very difficult. Our college conducts exams from time to time. The pass percentage is average.

Other: Events and fests are not much good. The connectivity with the market and railway station is good.

Great college with a very good infrastructure with one of the best 2nd Gen IITs.

Placements: CSE branch has 100% placement while coming to elect. It is around 94% coming to an average, it is 85%. The highest package for an intern is INR 1 crore. In India, it is INR 50 Lacs. Top companies are Google Microsoft Amazon which gave very good offers in Indian as well as International Package.

Infrastructure: Our college has one of the best infrastructures. All the departments have their block equipped with all modern instruments with AC rooms. Our hostel is best. It is having Wi-Fi router in every room.

Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified. All Proffesors are Ph.D holders. Student to faculty ratio is also good. We have 2 semesters in a year and 2 quizzes between semester exams. The minimum passing marks are 35%-40% depending on the course. It is moderate to pass. After all, it is a decent college.

Other: The reason for choosing Electrical Engineering is I like circuits and love to study them. All the IITs have the same course structure. It is a bit old. Many things they teach us which are not relevant for our course.

I am satisfied with good placements & infrastructure.

Placements: In our college, there are 6 to 7 streams available for B.Tech. There are also many streams for M.Tech & Ph.D. students. Placements percentage is very good in our college as our placements cell works hard to find new companies for college. In the previous year, the placement percentage is above 95%.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure & hostel facility is very good because this is a new campus. All the rooms are very clean, although there are no air-conditioners in hostel rooms, but still, rooms are cool. There is also no loud music or noise in hostel rooms. There is a pay & eat system in the mess.

Faculty: Semester exams are slightly tough. Lectures and are very helpful & talkative. They taught very passionately & professionally. Curriculum activities are also held in our college as there are 2 annual fests named Adivitiya & Zeitgeist.

Other: For the students whose parent's income is under 1 lac per annum get a full refunded fee back. There is less campus crowd as there are around 400 students per year.

Good infrastructure with the best placements.

Placements: In my branch about 80-85% students got placed. Our placement cell is very active and helps in better placements. In computer Science branch 95-99% students got placed. Top recruiting companies like Google, Amazon, American Express, Texas instrumentals come.

Infrastructure: In IIT ROPAR there are separate blocks for each department J. C Bose (Electrical), Ramanujan Block (CSE), Satish Bhawan (Mechanical), Bhattacharya (Chemical). All the blocks have the facilities like Wi-Fi, Labs, Lecture halls. Library is located in the Lecture hall Complex area.

Faculty: The teachers as well as Teaching Assistants (TAs) are very supportive and they have optimum knowledge in their field. The course curriculum is relevant concerning the placements as well as internships. Semester exams are easy and scoring if studied well during the class.

Academics are pretty hard, and some professors are bad at speaking English and teaching.

Placements: The CSE branch got over 90% plus placements in the IT field, and the rest are either in non-core or startups. In the electrical branch, core placements are decent. Almost all the students who are interested in core got placed successfully. Non-core and IT companies gave almost over 70% placements in the electrical branch. Other branches have low core placements, but there, we saw good placements in non-core and IT domains. The average package offered is 20 LPA for IT and non-core and 17 LPA for core domain. The highest package offered is 1.5 crore. The top recruiting companies for my course are Amazon, Google, PayPal, Microsoft, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra etc. Internships are somewhat difficult. Students this year got low industrial internships in core branches, and most of them got research internships. But in CSE and MnC, students got good internships in major companies like Amazon, Microsoft etc. Top roles offered were software developer, data analytics, business consultant, data engineer, data scientist etc.

Infrastructure: IIT Ropar is a newly developed IIT, and it has all the modern facilities that are necessary for students. Every academic block is fully air-conditioned and has high-speed Wi-Fi. The new central library is fully furnished, air-conditioned, spacious, open and has good Wi-Fi facility. Each hostel has good facilities like water, Wi-Fi etc. The hostel is very clean and green. Each hostel has a lift and a common area for students. Hostel rooms allotted to us are also spacious and new, with Wi-Fi and LAN in every room. The campus has a cricket ground, football ground, badminton court, tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court etc. We have 24-hours operational medical center, cafe, Maggi point and juice corners that work till late at night. Mess serves four times a day, and according to me, it has the best quality food and the tastiest too. The mess is very hygienic and air-conditioned. The mess committee also hears each student's query.

Faculty: As it is an IIT, it has well-qualified and the best faculty among engineering institutions. All the professors and teaching assistants are highly knowledgeable and helpful to students. The teaching quality of the courses is very high and need extra effort to get good grades. The course curriculum is curated according to the modern world requirements, but still, we have to make extra effort to learn about the particular topic because professors don't teach all things in detail. There are different perspectives among us related to semester exams in IIT Ropar. It is obvious that exams are not easy, but we can make them easy by attending all classes and doing assignments on the stipulated time. We have to follow the professors' advice to get good marks. The passing percentage is 95%.

Other: I chose electrical engineering due to my interest in the core domain. I preferred electrical in this college over CS and IT in newer IITs because I will get much exposure here. The best thing about my course is the latest curriculum and emphasis on practical applications. In my opinion, the electronics domain should also be taught along with the electrical course. We have a mesmerizing annual fest called Zeitgeist, an annual tech fest called Advitiya, and an annual sports fest called Aarohan. Apart from these, there are a hostel day function, inter-IIT tech meets, inter-IIT sports competitions, festival celebrations, small events etc. The campus is not very crowded, in fact, it should have more students. Ropar is connected to major cities like Jaipur, New Delhi, Chandigarh etc. The nearby airport is Chandigarh, which is a 1-hour drive. It is well connected to tourist places like Shimla, Manali, Kasauli etc. Extracurricular activities keep us very strong in IIT. There are various clubs to do this like Alpha Productions (video editing), Arturo (photography), DiCypher (dance), Alankar (music), sports and technical clubs etc. Scholarships are provided to meritorious students, and economically weak students are given some fee exemptions. Overall, it is the best IIT among new IITs, and it is scaling its level in terms of research and placements.

Our college has good infrastructure and crowd.

Placements: Placements are decent in both SD and also in the core department. Some of the top recruiting companies are CoinDcx, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Samsung, Amazon, etc. Our average salary package is around 15 LPA to 18 LPA, and it is a bit more for the CSE branch.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. All classrooms and even the lobbies of the department are air-conditioned. A well-organised library is also there. Wi-Fi is available on the whole campus and in all hostels. The food in the mess is also very good, and a pay-as-you-eat system has been implemented recently. The canteen, sports area, and medical center are all equipped with the desired things.

Faculty: The curriculum of this college is up to date and according to the demand in today's industries. Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. Some of them are very helpful. The level of papers is somewhat high, as one would expect from one of India's top engineering colleges. It's not that difficult.
