Review of Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi.

Placements: My course is B.A. Political Science Honors. 50 percent of students got placed. The average package is 20 LPA. I don't have any information about any companies. Most of the students start doing internships when they are in either the second or third year. I love Political Science, so I opted for this subject.

Infrastructure: There is very poor Wi-Fi connectivity on our campus. Classrooms are very small and suffocating, with no AC. The best thing about Kamala Nehru College is that it has a huge library, but there is poor internet and Wi-Fi connectivity. It is big, so fans are not enough in summers. Classrooms are so good.

Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable, but they try to put their hard work in, or they don't want to put extra effort into the students. They just come to class, start reading from their personal electronic gadgets like tablets and laptops. They should teach from their whole heart.

Other: My course is Political Science (Hons). So there should be practical work like parliamentary debate and public speaking activities.

Our college has super faculty, theory-based course, and is improving infrastructure.

Placements: There are no placements in our course. Students have to rely on their own for placements or internships. In DU, summer internships or elsewhere. However, there is a placement cell for courses like B.Com. But students either go for higher studies or for UPSC competitive exams.

Infrastructure: Initially, when I joined, the infrastructure was not that good, but now it's really improving. We got a new academic block with centralized AC rooms and newly built washrooms. Wi-Fi is installed with great connectivity. Our new principal is really working on these things.

Faculty: Faculty for Political Science is really helpful, well-qualified, and experienced. From sem 3 onwards, you meet really hardworking teachers for papers like constitution, public administration, and indian political thought. But the curriculum is more theory-based and does not make us ready for the industry. It's super easy to pass exams with analysis of PYQs and selective study.

Other: The crowd is good, and there is a vibrant atmosphere.

Absolutely the best college.

Placements: I don't know the exact number of students placed in college, but we have a very active placement cell which provides day-to-day internship details on their Instagram handle, and I find it very helpful. Recently, I was shortlisted for the LensKart internship programme.

Infrastructure: Talking about college Wi-Fi and classrooms, they are not good enough. Wi-Fi are installed but does not actually work. Students have to bring a chair for the classroom. The library is good, but air conditioning is not provided there, which actually hinders our study during summer.

Faculty: Talking about the teachers, they are absolutely good, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Every teacher is helpful. Our professors have a very friendly nature. Talking about semester exams, they are not a big deal if you're good in studies and well up to date with your course and attend classes.

Other: Talking about why I chose this course, I belong to a humanities background and have a great interest in history, which is actually a very demanding and competitive course in our university. There are a lot of career options, only you just have to explore everything.

A well-rounded experience for Political Science students.

Placements: 30 to 40 percent of students decided to go for jobs after they finished their studies. The rest of the students chose to study some more. The package these students get from their jobs is around 2.5 LPA to 8 LPA. On average, students get around 3.5 LPA to 4 LPA. Some of the companies that hire students are Deloitte, EY, Wipro, NGOs, and research firms. Students also get to work as interns in think-tanks, media companies, government departments, and policy organizations.

Infrastructure: The department has classrooms, Wi-Fi, a library with lots of books, computer facilities, seminar halls, and you can use digital resources. Political Science students really benefit from an academic environment. This is because they get to listen to guest lectures, have discussions and do research. The good thing is that you do not need a laboratory to study Political Science. They do not have hostel facilities.

Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful. They know their subjects well. They are also good at teaching. The course syllabus helps students learn how to analyze and do research. It would be better if it included more real-life examples. Exams are held every semester. They are of moderate difficulty. To do well, students need to study. Students who attend classes consistently and study hard usually pass with good scores. The pass percentage is generally good.

Other: I picked Political Science because I love learning about governance, public policy, and international relations. This course has academic learning, and I like that there are active student groups, seminars, and cultural events on campus. One thing that would make it even better is chances to get internships and be exposed to the industry. The campus is easy to get lively. They offer scholarships to students who qualify.

All about KNC one needs to know.

Placements: Placements are fine. Good companies also offer placement opportunities to students. However, based on my course, I'm not very aware of the placement opportunities available. Many students got internships in like research and NITI Aayog. Top roles which are offered, I'm not aware of.

Infrastructure: There's no hostel facility available, but the infrastructure is not bad. A new building has been made, which is air-conditioned, has good benches, and a classroom facility. Wi-Fi is also functional. The library has coolers as well as newly made life. The canteen is just fine, with bearable food.

Faculty: Teachers are nice good and supportive. As much as we study, the curriculum doesn't make us directly industry-ready, as there's no skill enhancement through this course. Semester exams are just fine one can easily score 7-8 GPA if one studies sincerely a month before exams.

College is not bad but not good. I am still enjoying it.

Placements: My course and batch have over 100 students. The highest package is 24.5 LPA, the average is 5.23 LPA, and the lowest is 4.90 LPA. Honestly, for courses besides commerce and journalism, internships and opportunities could be quite niche. Connections are still dynamic, and the placement cell is quite active. However, you still have to find a lot by yourself.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure in my college is quite average. The library is good, but there is no AC, and Wi-Fi doesn't work there. The computer lab is good, and the computers there work pretty well. Some classrooms are good, and some lack basic facilities like chairs. Honestly, it depends on what building you are in. The difference is big there. Journalism department is the biggest one, while the old building is, as suggested, old. A positive thing there is the extension of the new building now, which has AC classrooms. Canteen food, I would say, is the best. We have Nescafe and Amul cart. Food here will not disappoint you.

Faculty: I have met professors who are helpful, qualified and actually enjoy teaching, but I also met professors who make me question how they are even qualified for this. Course curriculum is relevant however, making students industry-ready is still questionable. Semester exams can be hard if you don't know how to stretch an answer with precise points. Passing SGPA is around 4-5.

Other: The best thing about my course is that philosophy, history, economics and psychology have their place in this course. The thing I want to improve is making the course dynamic however, with no unnecessary information. Fest in my college is honestly quite good. There is good food to eat and artists, though not that famous but still very enjoyable. Connectivity is there. You have to be yourself active for that. College societies are also very active with continuous participation.

Good faculty, improving infrastructure, great crowd, and value for money.

Placements: There are no placements in Political Science, and the course is more theory-oriented, you need to look for internships yourself in ministries. Students usually go for higher education or competitive exams like UPSC. However, the placement cell is partially active.

Infrastructure: Students have to get seats from other classes and projectors are not functional in most of the classrooms. However, it's taking a turn now as changes are made, we have got a new air-conditioned building with more seats, an efficient Wi-Fi facility and new washrooms.

Faculty: In teaching, the professors are really good in Political Science except for a few. Most are very serious about our studies and invest good time and effort in us and give appropriate guidance. The course is more theory-oriented rather than being practical. Additionally, I have journalism where the faculty is excellent.

Other: The course can be more practically applicable and made according to real-world needs, but societies give you that exposure.
