Placement opportunities are average.
Placements: There is a placement cell in our college that provides internship and placement opportunities. Although students prefer to find internships and opportunities on their own. However, I am not aware of the exact quantitative percentage of students who are placed.
Infrastructure: In all honesty, the campus is quite small for a university campus. Even though a new building with 2 floors has been built with air-conditioning recently. There still needs to be a lot of hygiene that needs to be maintained. Canteen food varies from one dish to another.
Faculty: The journalism department faculty jas one of the most knowledgeable sets of professors who guide the students. They are all well qualified, and the faculty provides interesting lectures for the students. Semester exams in DU can be moderate to difficult and at times easy. It depends on the subject. Most questions come from the PYQs. Almost everyone passed the first semester result.

Untold truth of Kamala Nehru College.
Placements: My percentage was 93, and I easily got this course. The highest package offered in this course is 15 LPA, and the lowest is around 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Zee News, News18, etc. The top role offered under this course is Anchor.
Infrastructure: There is a separate building for Journalism called the Journalism Block. It also has Wi-Fi, a seminar hall, washrooms, a media lab, and classrooms. Apart from the Journalism department, our infrastructure is aesthetic and beautiful. Facilities include a canteen, Nescafe, Amul, Chaupal, and many more.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, educated, and experienced. Journalism exams are quite lengthy, but we can score marks easily if we stick to the rules and regulations. Faculty suggestions are also very important. Semester exams are average in nature.
Other: From our college and particularly from our department, many students get selected in top companies, but many also remain unemployed. There is less practical work experience. Extracurricular activities take place occasionally, and students are encouraged to participate.

Everything is good, but placements are the real problem.
Placements: Placements are not as many as in other courses. In Journalism, there are very few opportunities, but if you get one, it can have a really good package. Most of the time, we have to find opportunities by ourselves. Internships are available, but we mostly have to search and apply on our own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The ground has a lot of space. It is really nice to sit there during winters. My friends and I spend our lecture gaps sitting on the ground. The Wi-Fi is not good at all. Classrooms become very hot during summers. Only a few classrooms have AC.
Faculty: Faculty is good and understanding. However, some teachers are a little rude sometimes, but they usually say things for our benefit. One of my teachers tells us that we do not have enough experience with the current media scenario and how interviews actually happen in the real world. It is because the curriculum is outdated.

Overall, the curriculum is a little outdated, but teachers are great.
Placements: Placements are comparatively low for this course. For Journalism, there are very few opportunities, but whenever they come, they offer good packages. However, many students have to figure it out by themselves. Internships are available, but mostly we have to search for them ourselves.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The ground has an amazing space to sit during winter. My friends and I sit on the ground during lecture gaps. The Wi-Fi is not good. Classrooms become very hot during summer, and only a few classrooms have AC.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and understanding. However, some teachers are a little rude, but they say things for our benefit. My teacher says that we do not have experience with the current media scenario and how interviews are conducted in the real world. It's because the curriculum is kind of outdated.

A good crowd can make good friends and is good for your career as well.
Placements: Placement is not that good for this particular course. The placement cell mainly provides internships, but placements are not that good. However, it does have a name if you search for placement on your own and a good name of value.
Infrastructure: Facilities of water and washrooms are amazing. The washrooms are usually clean. Some classrooms are usually very small, students sit very congested, but the new building, which has been made recently, is really great. Wi-Fi doesn't work, nor can you access the network.
Faculty: Faculty is excellent. Teachers are really helpful and qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers have really great connections with media houses and support in everything. They are really kind. However, the curriculum is not at all relevant to the current scenario.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty, placements, campus, infrastructure and overall facilities.
Placements: 40 percent of students got placed last year. The highest package is 32 LPA, the lowest is 5 LPA, and the average is 10 LPA, which is quite good tbh. Top recruiting companies are Times Now, NDTV, Hindustan Times, and News18 India. Somewhere around 40-50 percent of students got summer internships in companies like NDTV and Times Now, and some of them got into Doordarshan also. Top roles offered in my course are editor-in-chief and news presenter on national TV.
Infrastructure: Facilities are 10/10, every classroom is air-conditioned with a proper ventilation system. We have proper labs for every course, like a geo lab, media lab, computer lab, etc. Wi-Fi condition is really good, we have proper connection throughout the campus. Our college doesn't offer hostels, so you have to get personal PGs.
Faculty: Teachers are fabulous here. They are really helpful, kind, top in their fields, and very friendly. The course curriculum is very relevant and it makes students industry-ready by the end of this course. Semester exams are moderate to tough, but teaching quality is really good, so ultimately students pass with really good marks. Even I got 9 CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because I really wanted to do it, and the nicest thing about this course is the exposure you get to the real world. Remove the theory part totally and make it fully practical. Every single thing about the events, fest, crowd, connectivity, and ECA is top-notch.

Best faculty for journalism in DU.
Placements: There are no actual mass campus placements from the college. One of the reasons for this could be that it is only for humanities and commerce students. There is no Science department, but we do have some good alumni from the psychology and journalism departments.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility, but the campus itself is nice, clean, warm, and gives homely vibes. The canteen is really affordable and clean and hygienic. The journalism building is a bit old, but they have constructed a new building with better accommodation.
Faculty: The best part about the college is its faculty members, they are on par with DU's top college faculty members. They are well experienced in their respective fields. They are also quite supportive outside academics, they encourage you to take internships and enjoy fests along with studies.
Other: I chose B.A. Journalism course because it was my backup plan, post my 2 drop years. I had heard and read about DU campus college life and wanted to experience it. There are very few colleges in DU that offer this course and I only wanted to do my Bachelor's from a government college.

Best in DU for journalism.
Placements: Placements are very poor here, as most companies don't prefer freshers, journalism jobs largely refer to people with a PG or PG Diploma. Placements for Journalism via the college are not at all present however, by building your skills, internships are possible.
Infrastructure: A media lab is present at the journalism department. The projectors are present in 2 rooms, and both are air-conditioned, however, the infrastructure is very old. Cameras, tripods, and microphones are very old and not working, for an evolving job like journalism, modern infrastructure is very much needed.
Faculty: Faculty is top-notch. Journalism Honors is regarded as the best course in Kamala Nehru College, recently our department joined UNESCO's media and literacy alliance. However, the university syllabus is very old, outdated concepts are included in the syllabus and AI, social media, and such modern topics are not covered. If you are looking for modern journalism, go to a private university.
Other: The course fee is Rs. 25,650, and it's indeed value for money. The crowd here is very nice, very genuine, and good people. Societies are going to give headaches for months, but still it will be worth the memories produced.
