B.A. (Hons.) in Geography - Batch of 2026
4.0
Satisfied with faculty and the college campus. I recommend getting admission to KNC.
Placements: Students do not get direct placements after their undergraduate studies in B.A. Geography (Hons). Most of them opt for higher studies and specialized courses to gain experience and expertise. They apply for internships in research, GIS-related fields, etc. Then they get into jobs at companies like ESRI, RMSI, EY, etc., for positions like GIS Analyst, GIS and RS Engineer, Professorship, etc. The average packages range between 5 and 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college offers decent infrastructure with well-equipped facilities like light tables for topographical map reading, stereoscopes, etc. The entire college has free Wi-Fi, with working fans in the library and AC in labs. There are no hostels, but PG facilities are available nearby the college. The college has a good canteen with a decent range of food and drinks at affordable prices. There are a lot of sports activities, and training is provided to students for competitions.
Faculty: Professors provide insightful information and teach with presentations and lucid notes to teach students effectively, along with fun activities and assignments. The course curriculum is relevant. Students do have to opt for further courses to become industry-ready. College exams are manageable with regular studies, following the resources provided by teachers, and having an understanding of PYQs.
Other: I chose this course because of my inclination towards geography as a discipline and the diverse opportunities it offers. The best thing about my course is that we get to learn and create maps and understand various geographical information and phenomena. The college has various events, ranging from departmental and society events to college-level fests, conferences, etc. Alumni meets help people get networking opportunities, and college societies help students indulge in extracurricular activities.

Geography Department of KNC is one of the best in DU.
Placements: The placement opportunities for B.A. Geography (Hons.) are good. Students are quite average. Also, it varies from student to student on the basis of academic background and the particular theme they have opted for in geography, as students with knowledge of GIS & remote sensing have an edge over others.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my course and college is pretty decent with well-equipped classrooms and available DU Wi-Fi. We also have access to computer labs. Kamala Nehru College does not provide hostel facilities for students, but the college campus is good with various sports facilities available.
Faculty: B.A. Hons geography course follows the semester system. The faculty of the geography department is very old and experienced. This course is very relevant as geography offers various interesting themes such as oceanography, climatology, GIS, and remote sensing.

B.A. Hons Geography course is worth it for time and money.
Placements: Placement of my course, B.A. Geography (Hons.) is quite average, and the job opportunities vary according to academic background and performance, but additional knowledge about GIS and remote sensing helps to get better job opportunities. This course opens a wide spectrum for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the geography department is quite good, with access to geography labs and computer labs. Our college also provides Wi-Fi facilities. The college library of Kamala Nehru College is also very big, with a wide range of books available for various courses.
Faculty: The faculty of the Geography Department of Kamala Nehru College is very experienced and good, with easy approachability. B.A. Geography (Hons.) course follows the semester examination system. This course helps us study various aspects of geography in physical as well as human geography.

Satisfied with faculty, the crowd, and the fees, but the infrastructure is not too good.
Placements: No placements are offered for the Geography Honors course. Most people tend to pursue a Master's and then professional jobs in the sectors of GIS, Remote Sensing, and data analysis. After a Master's and Ph.D., they go for professorships and stuff. There are no direct placements, but jobs are provided after professional degrees.
Infrastructure: Geography labs are available, but the infrastructure does not match the number of students. To solve this, the batch is divided into groups. Wi-Fi is available for various digital functions to be done as per the course. Classroom capacity is about 60 students, but in some batches, 70-80 students are enrolled. Libraries do provide the required books for the course.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly supportive and helpful. Their knowledge and concept clarity are good. They also teach well. The course contains various disciplines of Geography. In each semester, there are 3 core subjects. One is from Physical Geography, one is from Human Geography, and one is practical.

All about Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi.
Placements: My percentage is 89, and I can easily get admission to this college with these marks. The top recruiting companies are GIS-based for the placement of this course. But this course is good for upcoming competitive exams rather than placements. The top roles offered are Urban Planner, GIS Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The college area is small, but I really like it. I like the aesthetics of Kamala Nehru College because it is beautifully designed. Its location is near Siri Fort. My college reminds us of history and comes under the Archaeological Survey of India.
Faculty: Faculty and professors are highly qualified. The Geography department is the 2nd best department after Miranda House among all colleges of the University of Delhi. This course makes us fully industry-ready. Exams are also not really tough.
Other: I chose this course because Geography is a very practical subject. It always fascinates me a lot. I don't think any changes are needed in this course. Our college supports talent and extracurricular activities along with amazing collective events like fests and Diwali Mela.

Overall, the college is good.
Placements: The placement opportunity is not very good in this course. Students rarely get any placements. Top recruiting companies are very few. But the internship opportunities are good in this course. Students placed got many internship opportunities in various fields associated with geography.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is beautiful and clean. Labs are available for my course, and classrooms are good and large. There is availability of electricity and Wi-Fi. The college does not provide a hostel for students. We can find our own accommodation. Apart from that, the mess food quality is good.
Faculty: Faculty are very good and supportive. All are well-trained and structured. They guide us regarding our careers and encourage for extracurricular activities. The course curriculum is also relevant in today's time as the world is facing severe climatic challenges.

Kamala Nehru College review-2026.
Placements: I think the possibility of college placement in Geography (Hons) is less, but we do get internship opportunities. Workshops and Webinars are held annually. Most students have to work on their own for their placement and get better internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: We have designed classes for our course, and labs are also there. Our college doesn't offer hostel facilities. The canteen food is also quite average, according to me. However, the sitting area is limited. We have a library which can be easily accessed through our library card. Medical facility is also available.
Faculty: I really like the faculty of my course. Most of the teachers are helpful and very experienced. I think the level of difficult of semester exams is comparatively less in my course to other courses. Eventually, students will understand how to make their answers better and get good grades.

Overall, I have a good experience with my college.
Placements: As I am a student in the Geography department, my course does not offer placement opportunities through the college. However, students pursue internships outside the college and get placed in different companies and fields. The highest package is around 20–25 LPA. The lowest package is around 6–7 LPA. The average package falls between these figures. Many companies, including airlines, Google, and others, recruit students from related fields. As I have already mentioned, students pursue internships through outside sources in different companies. The top roles include Map Designer, Cartographer, Data Analyst, and Economic Geographer.
Infrastructure: There are about 80–82 students in my batch. The classroom space is quite small for so many students. We often have to bring chairs from different classrooms and find space to sit, which sometimes becomes hectic. The Wi-Fi worked during the first year. But it did not work throughout the second year. Although it was repaired later, the password was not shared with students, so it was of no use to us. The library is good. Most of our classes are conducted in laboratories, so facilities are the same. The college does not offer hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are highly knowledgeable and well-qualified. They help us a lot, and the teaching quality is actually good. The curriculum is also good, but the VAC, SEC, and GE subjects sometimes increase the burden. The difficulty of the course mainly depends on how we study. However, there were two occasions in my GE subject when the teacher did not complete the syllabus, and we had to finish it on our own. It happened with the same teacher both times. The examinations are well conducted, answer sheets are properly evaluated, and decorum is maintained. The pass percentage is around 33%.
Other: I chose this course because I thought that UPSC questions mainly come from this subject. It is actually a very vast subject. Now I enjoy working with satellite images, creating maps, etc. Everything, as far as I know, is already there. The events in our college are the best, and students really enjoy them. Though there are some extracurricular activities conducted in the college, sometimes we do not get to know about them. We come to know about them only after they are already over.
