My college review, IT department, for sure we need to improve, but we are doing great, key insights.

Placements: The companies mainly come for placement in the 7 th sem in the 4th year. For the 3rd year, companies start coming after the summer vacation ends at the start of the 5 th sem, in our batch 2027, the 1st company was BNY, Cisco, and Dell. BNY had a 7 CGPA criteria, but the cutoff for Dell was very high, about 9.3 in the IT department.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent in our university. From the start of the 5 th semester onwards, the whole school of computer engineering has been shifted to the new campus 25. On campus, 25 majorly 2 and 3rd and 4th year students' classes are held. It is divided into 3 blocks A, B, and C. We have Wi-Fi Labs for our lab classes, and the new library is also present in the C block. The hostel depends on the type of room you want AC or without non AC. Campus 25 has AC premium hostels. Non-AC hostels are kp 6, kp 1.

Faculty: Talking about the curriculum, it is designed to achieve the outcome mentioned in the course objective. It depends on the type of subject you study in your semester, some subjects students enjoy, like DBMS, OS, etc. Other subjects, like ITC for the IT department, it is not a good scoring subject. The end-semester are above average and in the case of DSA and DAA, algorithm-related subjects, the toughness is great, which will make you question whether you really studied anything or not. Majorly all the students who have attended the classes regularly pass the exams.

Other: Talking about the connectivity point, campus 25 is a bit too far from the main campus. But, I am sure that in the near future, necessary arrangements will be made for the students. The network problem is also present in campus 25, which needs to be resolved.

Really glad for its first class facilities, infrastructure and greenery campus.

Placements: Almost 90 percent students are placed from CSE. The average package offered is 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 21 LPA. Many companies like Accenture, Infosys, BNY, Meesho, JP Morgan, Philips, Optum, etc., have visited our campus. Almost 50 percent of the students got their internship in the third year itself. Top roles offered are SDE, product manager, business analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are top notch. The environment is a fully greenery campus. We also have high-class classrooms, labs, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The hostel is also very good. We also have IIMS hospital for any kind of medical issue. Sports and games are also really encouraged.

Faculty: The teachers are really very helpful and knowledgeable. We are also assigned personal mentors who really help us when we need them. Besides, the course curriculum is really relevant and industry ready. The semester exams are not so hard to pass if you regularly attend classes and study hard. Almost 90 percent students pass their exams.

Other: I am from the Computer Science Engineering batch passing out in 2026. The college society events and especially the fest are really exciting. Besides studies, this college also provides a lot of extracurricular activities.

Great campus life and placement reality of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.

Placements: Although KIIT claims 100 percent placement, many students opt out or join mass recruiting companies, with top recruiters like Amazon, Microsoft, and Flipkart, highest packages around 50–60 LPA mostly off campus, lowest 3–4 LPA, an average of 7–8 LPA, fewer on-campus internships, and common roles such as SDE, web developer, analyst, and consultant.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of KIIT is the best you can get. High-tech classrooms, Wi-Fi and AC in hostels and classrooms, aesthetic libraries are a part of regular life. Research facilities, project opportunities, and exploration in academics have no boundaries for someone who’s eager to learn. Hostels are great, the mess food is above average depending on hostel to hostel. Mess charges are 22.5k per semester, and hostel fee is around 50,000 approximately per semester that includes Wi-Fi, AC, laundry and everything. For medical facilities, we have KIMS which is our own medical college where our checkups are free.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful in general and definitely too qualified, as a lot of them are IITians and everyone’s a Ph.D. holder. Teaching quality and marks giving vary from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum is mostly relevant, but a lot of extra subjects are there for no reason, which hinders the actual studies required for placement. Semester exams aren’t that difficult if studied routinely. Everyone passes, and even if they don’t, they are made to appear again to clear backlogs. No year losses.

Other: I am in my 6th Semester B. Tech CSE. Computer Science is a vast subject with a lot of domains. I am getting to know a lot of things on technologies, and given the market, if you have skill in tech you get a nice pay. I wish the course was more placement focused, like AIML, Cybersecurity, Full Stack, SQL, Python, Cloud, which are more industry-based knowledge. We have almost 30 societies, and the fest and extracurricular scene is very strong here. We have crowd from foreign countries as well. The campus surroundings and connectivity are top class.

KIIT School of Computer Engineering provides scholarships on merit-based.These scholarships are decided by the academic council. Below is the detailed information regarding the KIIT School of Computer Engineering scholarships:

Pradyumna Bal Memorial Scholarships: This scholarship is instituted in the memory of Late Pradyumna Kishore Bal, Founder President of KIIT. Every year two economically challenged but meritorious students are provided completely free education.This scholarship covers the student’s college fees, hostel dues including mess, books and any other ancillary expenses.
KIIT Merit Scholarships: This scholarship is awarded to the semester toppers (1st, 2nd & 3rd position) of each semester in each branch for six months. KIITEE Merit Scholarship is awarded to KIITEE General Rank holders from rank 1 to 1000 for a period of 4years, during the study period at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Deemed to be University. KIITEE Merit Scholarship holders will not be awarded with KIIT Merit Scholarships.

NOTE: The student must maintain at least 75% attendance in each semester and secure at least 7.5 SGPA in each semester and clear all the papers in a single sitting (no back paper) to be issued by the Controller of Examinations. Moreover, not indulge in any indiscipline activity to be issued by Director, SA.
